Mon - 1:49/1:11, go me. The planks SUCK and after 45 seconds I'm like dying, but able to hold it, but I'm only making myself hold for 1 second longer each day, which will suck but I think I can do that. I'm pretty proud I did a 70 second wheel again.

"Planks"-giving

My little sis invited me to do a plank a day during November. I thought I'd add a wheel pose (I was inspired by this clip Corey showed us from 90 day fiancee, cause I'm in better shape than Sumit's mom, so I should prove it to myself and get doing some yoga stretching again.) I don't want to be "rusty"! Here goes, I'm going to try and improve my time each day

Oct 4 - 9

Tuesday - Picked up Abi early from school again for her flute lesson, and so that I could get in one more bike ride before the fall rains come, which should be starting tomorrow. I forgot my helmet but decided to go anyway, sorry to the biking police if that is dangerous. I'd rather ride without a helmet than go back home to get it and not have time to come back. Started at Coyote Trailhead at 2:33, At Ann's east at 2:48, Peakview at 3:11, Ghost falls at 3:15, down then back up, second time down at 3:34. I really love Ghost falls, although it smelled really bad this time cause it started to rain and the dead leaves were stinky. I hurried back to the car and did not do the rush loop twice cause it was raining.

Saturday - it's been many weeks since I've been at the gym, but I guess since winter is coming it's time to do it. Lat pull 20x85, 20x85, 6x95, 6x105, 10x95  Precor Triceps 20x50, 20x60, 8x70, 6x80 woo, 12x70  Chest Fly 12x50, 10x55, 8x55, 2x65, 6x60, 4x55, 12x50 Bicep barbell curl - 30x20, 30x30, Shoulder barbell upward rows 6x30 converging press 12x25, 10x25, 10x20

Sept 27 - Oct 2

Tuesday 9/28 - Hyrum headed to San Diego today. After seeing him at Frontrunner and Trax, I picked up Abi early from school so I could go on a bike ride, hehe, cause time is running out to enjoy the fall. Started Anns east at 3:20, arrived at Peakview at 3:45, Took ghost falls down, then up, then down again, Lovely ride.

Wednesday 9/29 - 5:12 arrived at Coyote Trailhead, Potato hill at 5:22, Started Ann's east at 5:40, took Rush down, 6:19 got off Rush and onto Canyon hollow, 6:38 started down Ghost falls, 6:44 at waterfall, went back up. 6:56 arrived at top and started down Ghost falls again, 7:03 at falls, getting dark, hurry back to car.

Thurs 9/30 - +

Saturday 10/2 - bike ride with the family down Canyon Hollow.

I stayed with Daniel, we went nice and slow but he did it!! He said "I guess I am a mountain biker!"
At the bottom, I volunteered to bike back up to Peakview to get the car. That was a good workout cause I was going back up as fast as I could cause I had to get back asap for Corey's sanity. Corey thought Daniel had not ridden down the trail and that we drove down with the car to Coyote Trailhead parking. I went up Canyon Hollow and Ghost Falls, cause I didn't want to do Clarks, took me 40 minutes, I got the car, picked them up at the Cycle park.

Monday - 20 handstands, 30 min evening bike ride

Tuesday - It's been a long time since I've come to lift weights, life is just too busy right now, but my right shoulder is hurting, so after taking Wes to early morning seminary, I stopped by for just 10 minutes (before I had to be back home to take Lily to jazz band) and did lat pulls 12x85, 10x95, 8x105, 6x115, 3.5x125, 12x110

Wednesday - 30 min bike ride, 137 this morning, lowest I've been on over 5 years since before Daniel was born. 10 handstands, stretching

Saturday - Corey took kids ALSNO to BYU game, Wes stayed home with Peter while I went on a bike ride. Parked at Coyote Trailhead, took Potato Hill to Ann's East, explored Edelweiss, then Peakview. Peakview to Ghost falls was 4 minutes, Ghost falls to car was 15 minutes. I was trying to go fast so I could get back and take Wes to go ice skating for an hour

Wednesday - bike at home, had to use Abi's bike cause mine got a flat after my niece rode it yesterday and apparently went through a ton of goatheads, I found 10 in my tires. Saturday - Busy busy day - No biking cause we had to clean the church at 8, busy the rest of the day with a bday party, kids back to school shopping, Hale Center Theater, and all the usual dishes and meals and cleaning. Corey comes back on Tuesday, no workout but I'm doing pretty good for my 10th day as a single mom.

Tuesday - Happy birthday Owen! AM Bike ride with Nancy at Quinn's Trail, 7 am - 6.65 miles, 530 elevation, Up Fast Pitch to Matt's Flat, then took a right on Sevently 101 to Porcuclimb, then to Nowhere Elks, then down the Rusty Shovel trial again, to Rambler then back to the car. It's a nice loop. PM bike ride with Corey at Guardsman Pass - we did not know what we were doing. Left Marriott at 7:30, arrived at Guardsman 7:46. It's 11:30 pm and we've been looking at the maps trying to figure out where we went and we think we got it - we somehow missed Scott's bypass and instead we hiked to the top of Jupiter Bowl, then and over toward Jupiter Peak until 8:08, Then backtrack for 8 minutes, 8:17 ended up going along Dead Tree Black Diamond trail, 8:32 - started 5 mile/43 minute ride from Apex down. Somewhere near Parley's Park junction with Sunnyside, Dynamite, and Prospector, we took a left on the dirt road to Thaynes Mine, then north from there along the ski trail then down Thaynes Canyon. We went on private property under three separate gates (we were losing light, it was life or death situation!) and ended up Snows Lane, finished at 9:15, 1 mile/8 minute ride from Snows Lane to Lowell Avenue, back at Marriott at 9:24 pm. We didn't die or get stuck on the mountain overnight, yay.

Wednesday - AM Bike Ride - Left at 6:27 am to do a little exploring and find the trail head to Armstrong, or wherever Corey said that he and Joseph had gone biking last year. Was back at the hotel at 7 to wait for Nancy. We took Silver Spur to Armstrong. The Armstrong climb was beautiful. Ended up at the King Con lift (where Corey and I were last night) then we took Armstrong a little further up, then Dawn's and over to the Spiro connector, then Spiro down and back to Silver Spur, back to the hotel. Stats according to Nancy's apple watch: total time - 2:10, Total distance 5.48, Elevation gain 739. 142.8 weight after we were back, yeehaw. Jul 19 - 24

Monday - Corner Canyon at 6am, took Clarks up, had to get off twice, explored a little bit along the Upper Corner Canyon Trail, then down Canyon Hollow, up Brock's Trail back to Peakview, then retraced that again but went down Corner Canyon until there were just so many bikers coming up that I decided to turn around instead of keeping pulling over, so I went back up to Brocks, then took Fly By Night to Rush the Trees and back down, did the little loop past Silica Pit and back down Rush one time, on my way home at 7:45

Tuesday - bike ride to CHRC, upper body workout, then biked back home, didn't have to get off the bike, good workout. My arm is almost healed. Monday - Upper body - BACK (Diverging lat pull down) - 12x95, 10x105, 8x115, 6x125, 12x115, , CHEST - Pec Fly 12x50, 10x55, 8x60, 6x65, 12x60  SHOULDER upward row with barbells - 12x20, 10x30, 8x40, 6x50 (could almost lift it all the way) 12x40  BICEPS - 12x2/12, 10x2/12, 8x2/12, 6x2/15, 12x2/12   TRICEPS - extensions on Precor 12x60, 10x70, 8x80, 6x90 12x80

Tuesday - morning bike ride, started at the Coyote Trail Head, took Clark's trail up to Peak View, then down and back to the Coyote Trail Head. I fell when the bike got a little stuck in a divot in the path and I went over the handlebar and felt like I was in baseball sliding into home base, but with my arm instead of my feet. I got a real good scratch all up my inner right arm.

How it looked after I scrubbed (ouch) it clean at home.

Wednesday - I didn't make it to the gym this morning, cause I didn't have my arm bandage ready to go upon waking and didn't then get to it cause it was a busy day. 10pm did an old workout in the basement - 3 rounds of the following:

  • 10 jump lunges
  • 20 Romanian Deadlifts 2/30
  • 100 calf raises pulses 2/30
  • 15x of lower than parallel squats with 1/30
  • 1 min center plank
Time of rounds: 3:23, 3:09, 3:13 - total time 9:45

Thursday - I was at Coyote Trail Head at 6 am, took Clark's trail up to Peak View and I only got off of my bike once! (stopped two other times to catch my breath but didn't get off my bike) Pretty good job, go me, I was proud of myself. By the time I was back at the bottom of the Rush trail it had only been an hour and I thought maybe I'd go do it all over again, but then no.... I don't want to bike up again. But I can do a little something, so I rode up the Coyote Hollow Trail, my first time on that, went past the Silica Pit and over .16 miles more which brought me back to the Rush trail, so I went back down, Did that loop two more times, total of three times, and was on my way home at 7:45. That little loop will be a good one to have the kids practice on, cause they'll learn to go uphill and also can get used to a rush trail's hills

I'm going biking again tomorrow with my little bro or maybe my sister in law, will be fun! Also, I'm not sore from last night, so will do 4 or 5 rounds next time.

Friday - Picked up Steph at 5:45, then at Corner Canyon with my sister in law until 7:45 biking and hiking. Fun! Hibberts are in town today - so we did street hockey at 10, swimming at 1, and soccer at the park at 6, pretty good workout at the soccer game, and sweaty all day just from being outside in this heat!

Saturday - Peter woke up with a fever and Corey was stick too, so I took P with me and we went to pick up Wes at EFY. P fell asleep in the car, Wes didn't want to come yet, so I pulled over and since P was still asleep I napped for 30 minutes. So far today I've done some handstands, a little biking with my brother and his kids at the Quarry Trail, good stuff. Might try to go to lift weights later or play racquetball if Corey is feeling better

Jul 5 -10

We were gone on a vacation to Lake Tahoe this week. We did a few bike rides, but nothing that was intense cause Owen and Peter were with us. That was it for workouts. I also ate too much because I turned to eating food mindlessly when I was feeling frazzled and restless.

Friday - drove home all day

Saturday - tried to do a little bit of both upper and lower today since I didn't do either at all this week.

Thursday - Left home at 5:55, started bike uphill at 6:20, the hill by the temple is a killer, arrived at Potato Hill 6:55 am, took Ann's Trail east, was fun but a lot longer than I thought. After I got to the Peak View Trailhead I took the Intermediate Rush trail down, it was fun! At 7:40 I was where I met up with Corey, Wes, and Joseph last weekend. Headed down more along Rush Trail, I fell on some gravel, my pants protected me from scratches. Fell off my bike again at the gate on my way out, they are tight corners and I'm not good at corners yet. In car and on my way back home at 8:05, Back home at 8:24. That was a good workout and it was fun! Having Fun - Laura Dixon Podcast Episode 70. I listened to that a few times yesterday. So yeah, she told me I showed a complete lack of integrity and I'm deciding what to do, if I care if it goes to collections or what. She wants me to make another payment for the month "I used" even though I only used two weeks, and says she'll take further action on it, so I'm trying to decide what to do and am going to talk to Corey about it. Mar 1 - 6

Monday - 30 minutes of splits stretching this morning, then did more during the day, one 30 second let down, two 60 second handstands. 150.8, listened to a lot of Laura Dixon today, I am trying to learn how to properly manage my emotions. I did not manage them properly last week. Corey shared a Deseret News article tonight about BYU long distance runner Conner Mantz - "He's willing to run with pain that knocks others out of the race." Pain is just a feeling, our thought about it dictates our actions. We can think "It's just temporary, it won't kill me" and thus we keep going, or we think "This is bad, this is unbearable, I can't do it anymore" and we quit. Wisely said here by Ben Polson - "Ultimately it [comes] down to having the right mindset. Don't let your feeling dictate your actions. But rather let your actions dictate your feelings."

Feb 22 - 27

Monday - warm up and 7 min workout - jump lunges, 180s, and high knees, also started doing reverse pull ups/ let downs, trying for 10 seconds hold and hang for 20. Ate a lot of left over treats from yesterday

Tuesday - a little sore from yesterday - only did 20 seconds of jump lunges! That means that I have definitely NOT worked out for a while. Did handstands. Ate WAY too much today.

Wednesday - still sore. Trying to think of my health/body goals. Today I worked on handstand, and a head stand, did some stretching today, I was inspired by my friend Deb's facebook. I've always wanted to do the splits. I want to be flexible. Where do I begin? Hmm.... also I did a few letdowns and hangs. Finished off the coconut things today, ate 13 of them I think, yikes.

Thursday - headstand, handstands, still sore but did 7 min wo: jump lunges, 180s and mtn climbers, then stretching. Talked to mission comp Charity today. "Food does not make me happy." This is true. 150.2 today, it is just information, it does not mean I have failed or that I am a failure. Deb from yesterday is a health coach. I wonder if I need a health coach. I feel like I do when it's shark week, I have felt out of control and mad at myself. I'm in control today, it's not too late

Friday - warm up, 7 min with mtn climbers, high knees, jump lunges, stretching. 148.4. Watched a video about making 100 goals. The first thing on my list is to do the splits. It's always been a wish, but never a goal. I'm going to work on it for 30 days following this guys plan! If he can make that much progress, I have hope for myself! I have hope that I can do it too!

Saturday - skiing with kids (pulling them with my poles) splits stretching. This Logan Paul Splits video is really fun.

Monday - 1 minute handstand

Tuesday - I loved this thought by Dr. Meyer/Dr. Miracle from the book French Women Don't Get Fat: "There are two selves in each of us: the one who wants to be slim and healthy and athe one who wants fsomething else. One sees the big picture: well-being, self-esteem, fittin ginto the latest fashions. The other wants pleasure aplenty, and now. One is Narcissus leaning over his pool: the other is Pantagruel leaning over his table. The key, he said, was not to conquer the second, but to broker a rapprochement: make friends of your two selves and be the master of both your willpower and your pleasure. That was the French way."

Saturday - went for a jog, 146.8 today, yay

Thin podcast episodes 51 - 48, esp Episode 49 on exercise was awesome, I've kinda been changing in exercise anyway since November, it was nice to learn that it is OK! and we should stop the madness (a half marathon didn't work for me either)

Jan 4 - 9

Monday - Three 30 second treadmill sprints

Tuesday - no workout today. Miscarried today around 11:45, feeling good. Had a free consultation with Laura Dixon. Said no to working with her cause it was too expensive (like 27x more than what I budgeted I'd be willing to pay) but that is ok, cause her podcast is SO great and I know with all the help there I can keep my mindset right and I KNOW for the first time in years that I am going to reach my ideal weight finally.
Wednesday - 7 minute workout
Thursday - 20 handstands
Friday - 45 minutes - warm up, treadmill sprint, high knees, treadmill sprint, 2 wonderful flows, stretching, weight 149.4, oh yeah, I have been eating and thinking like a thin woman for the past two weeks and I am feeling so great everyday, I love how I feel! Nothing tastes as good as a thin woman's brain feels. I am so glad I don't have a food brain anymore!
Saturday - skiing at Snowbird, happy birhtday Joseph
