Thursday - Ruins and techy with Corey. 11.34 miles, 1 hour 29 min. We made it to the top in 1:02. 5 achievements - PR for Temple Quarry to mushroom land (2.71 in 37:00) PR for 3rd bridge tot top (.82 in 13:45) Silvers for Quarry up and down with techy (6.41 miles in 1:12.08) and Up mile 3 (.99 miles in 13:33) and Bronze for DH Quarry 3.6 miles in 18:45) And for the techy section, I sent every problem! Both rock piles, the log, all the downhill parts, yay, it was fun.

Friday - Corner Canyon - 6.37 miles in 54 minutes - Canyon hollow and ghost up, over to Rush, Rush down. I got 21 achievements and Corey got 22! Such as PR for: Ghost up (9:47) Rull lower Rush DH (10:18), The Trees (5:57) and other stuff, it was a fun ride.

Saturday - Corey and I went to the Draper Temple this morning, I did the fish tail after we got home, plus exploring a few spots for family pictures this evening. 8.03 miles, 38 minutes. I tied my PR for church to wasatch (1:54) and I was surprised that I got a really great PR on the Approach Hill!! 4:16! My old best time was 4:50 on July 1! Way to go me - 34 seconds off, woo! Then shower and spent the whole day getting ready for family pictures.

Aug 21 - 26

Monday - Well, Corey's been telling me for a while that he thinks I ride my tires too low. Today I got a pinch flat when I went  down the rocks and then straight down over the pipe on the 3rd bridge (not from trail or at an angle) and I must have gotten a flat there after that, cause then it sounded and felt weird and I promptly crashed hard. I didn't shred my skin except for on my right knee, hooray for my good pants for saving me. I would have gotten SO torn up if I was in shorts or a short sleeved shirt! I will NEVER not wear long pants and long sleeve shirts biking. I got some holes in them, ripped both of my shoes, and it HURT. Mostly banged up on my right side. Corey didn't see me fall, just saw me in a pile. He hurried back to the car and I walked back up to the third bridge where I was able to get to the road, and waited for him to come get me (we had parked at the trailhead to try and get home in time to see the kids for the first day of school - but since I crashed we missed the kids leaving, Mel took a pic for me though). Ride stats: 4.43 miles, 1142 elevation gain, 59 minutes total. Silver for Techy section 4:10, and silver for Up Mile 3 at 14:35 (PR on that this past Friday with Nathan and Corey was 13:33) 3rd fastest time from temple quarry to mushroom land 37:42. Also says I got 3rd fastest time for Rocky Tech alt downhill route, but we didn't take that, so that's weird. Anyway, I am officially sad and shaken and have just been laying on my bed. My fear says to stop going down the quarry trail and just go to Corner Canyon and do Ghost Falls. Oh my right shoulder hurts bad too, like I feel like I got in a car accident. Mel put some deep blue on it and her barely rubbing it hurt pretty bad, I need a massage.

Tuesday - Feeling like a wimp this morning, just did fishtail. 5.72 miles, 24:52. I didn't stay on the road, I did the dirt trail after the approach hill (road would have made my time faster) Total fishtail time was 17:42, which was a 2nd place, PR was on 7/27/23 at 16:42. Wasatch blvd to LCC roac was 10:38, also a silver. PR 9:53 pm 7/27/23. 3rd place for the approach hill at 4:54. PR was 7/1/23 at 4:50. Today was 2:17 for red church to wasatch, which wasn't a record for anything but just a segment where I know basically where it starts and ends. Wes, Abi and I did the fit test tonight. I did ok considering my injuries, but my hand is bruised and my shoulder got hurt and my knees, so I didn't beat many of my scores last week, but I tied a few. Last weeks scores on top, today's on bottom
Wednesday - Back in the saddle again after my fall on Monday. We went to the ruins and did techy on the way back, but we just took it easy the whole time, so no achievements. 11.25 miles, 1 hour 36 minutes.

Thursday - Last night I heard Mel and Wes talking about going on a jog in the morning, and we were able to cut them off at the pass and make them go biking with us instead!
It took Mel a bit to know how to shift down to an easier pedaling pace, so she got tired quick and Corey stayed behind with her, Corey wanted Wes to stay challenged and interested, so I went ahead with him and we made it to the third bridge. We passed Mel and Corey on our way down. I let Mel use my bike and Corey let Wes use his. Wes thought the ride down was really fun, yay! And he did pretty good on the ride up too (keeping up with his mom!) We all started at the parking lot, but Wes and I rode home (to relieve our babysitter Owen) and Corey and Mel drove the car back. 6.73 miles, no achievements, that's ok, 52 minutes.

Friday - Corey and I drove to Snowbird this morning and did some of Big Mountain. 6 miles in 65 minutes. We just went to the red rocks technical part and that's where we turned around. The ride down was fun but over so fast after all that work getting up there! 5 achievements, one silver and 4 bronze.

Saturday - busy morning with cleaning the church and soccer games. I didn't think I'd be able to get out on a ride, so I did 20 handstands and was able to do 3 chin ups in a row. Then later, Corey and I did made it to corner canyon for a ride - 7.2 miles in 59 minutes. We did canyon hollow to Brocks then Rush down, did rush the end twice. 18 achievements, yay, got PRs or 2nd best on everything during the climb. 2nd and 3rd places on a few things on the downhill, but mostly I was just going nice and easy and enjoying myself on the descent. It was perfectly overcast and not busy, it was perfect!

Aug 14 - 19

Monday - Ruins and Techy with Corey this morning.11.35 miles, 1:35:44 4 achievements: PR for 1st bridge to top - 2.23 miles in 37:25. Up Mile 3 was 2nd fastest time at 15:04. 2nd fastest time on Techy section too at 4:17, aaand I got a PR for the fastest section alive! 4:01! After we got home, Wes and I did the Fit Test together. The plus after is how many I increased from last week.

Push ups - 31 push ups on toes (+2 = 2 more than last week!) W - 25
Jump Squats - 40 (+4) W - 31
4x4s 14 (=) W - 18
Toe touch then knee hugs (laying on back) 12 (+2) W - 12
Knee drive 24 (+4) W - 25
Jump Lunges 44 (+8!) W - 40
Burpees w/push up 10 (+1) W - 10
Forward touchdown backward touchdown - 22 (+5) W - 12
Elbow ups - 19 (+5) W - 8 (Wes prob had better form than I did)
Box jumps - 16 (+3) W - 16

Tuesday - Bike ride up canyon with Corey and Joseph. My Fezzari's back tire had a flat. I pumped it up and it seemed fine, but Corey said he wouldn't risk riding it up or I might get stuck, so I rode my silver bike. It is a hardtail. I can't believe that I rode that all year last year! It was fine going up, but it is no fun coming down. I also missed my dropper post. I was still able to do the big pipe after the 3rd bridge, but wasn't able to do a lot of the other techy parts - the tread on the tires is really worn out. I do like that it's a triple speed - I cranked it all the way to 3:8 and got a PR on the ride from the church to Wasatch at 1:54. Corey and I usually take the whole road up pretty slow, and so that part usually takes us over 3 minutes at a regular speed.

Wednesday - Tire on my bike was still inflated so rode that today, yay, did ruins and Techy with Corey, 11.21 miles, 8 achievements. PR on Pow plant down (2:09). 2nd fastest for: Up mile 3 (14:45) DH Quarry (18:32), 3rd for fastest section alive (4:17) and 3rd bridge to top (15:20)

Thursday - Walked to Bells then hiked around the reservoir. I saw two coyotes! 4.69 miles, 1 hour 33 min

Friday - Met up with Corey's friend Nathan early at the trailhead (we were supposed to be there at 6:15, we were a little late) We drove to the trailhead, so rode from the quarry trailhead to the ruins and back with techy. 6.74 miles, 1:09:31. 8 achievements - I got 3rd place for quarry up and and back with techy 1:15. Also 3rd for Up mile 2 (15:00) and coalpit area (1:55 - still don't know where this section is) I got one silver medal for the temple quarry to mushroomland (37:30) and now for my 4 PRs today: 1st bridge to top 2.23 miles in 35:46, Up mile 3 13:33, 3rd bridge to top 14:45, and LC Descenet lower half 6:43. Fastest section alive was 4:20.

Saturday - I had Wes drop me off up the canyon a bit further near Tanner campground, which was destroyed by avalanches over the winter - I didn't know where the trail was but I heard there was a trail... I struggled through avalanche debris for a bit before I found it.

This pic is where I was still struggling. I sent it to Corey to shore him that o didn’t know what I was doing, and that I would text him if I needed to be reached. I eventually made it through to the ruins. None of the Trail was that great, would be a nice hike but I have no desire to bike it again. True, it could have just been the combination of a new trail with the rain that discouraged me, I still am fine to never do it again and to stick with well used trails. 7.06 miles, 1 hour 4 min, PR for pow plant down 2:06, PR for LC descent lower half 6:35, 2nd place for fastest section alive 4:10 and 2nd for coalpit area 1:53

Aug 7 - 12

Monday - Didn't make it out this morning. I was waiting on Corey, as in I've been on Florence Nightingale duty. He's been sick since Saturday morning, when we missed that last opportunity to go on a ride at Park City as well. Tonight he took at at home COVID test, and it was positive.

Tuesday - I knew it was just me, so I left this morning, yay, did the Quarry trail to ruins and back. 11.6 miles, 1 hour 40 min, I did ALL the sections after Lisa falls! It's the first time I've gotten up that first section of rocks this year, and also the first time I made it over the pipe at the end ever. PR from the 2nd bridge to the top 23:49, 2nd fastest time for 3rd bridge to top 15:16. PR on Pow plant down - 2:10. I can barely do one pull up, blah. I hope to start climbing again next week when school starts again.

Wednesday - Did an at home workout this morning, in the basement! I haven't worked out down there for forever. Did 5 min of toy soldier and stretching, then did Melissa Ioja fit test. I can't do up knee hugs but I tried, aka layed on my back as I did them. My scores Today/2023 in bold after my scores from summer 2018 5 years ago
Push ups - 18 toes, 10 knees - 29 all on toes!
Jump Squats - 38 - 36
4x4s (four high knees and four alt inside toe touches = 1) - 12 - 14
Feet up then knee hugs (these were awkward for me) - 5 - 10
lay down and knee drive - 18 - 20
Jump Lunges - 34 - 36
Burpees w/o push up - 11 - 9 with pushup (hate those!)
Forward touchdown backward touchdown - 14 - 17
Elbow ups - 19 - 14 (these were awkward)
Box jumps - 10 - 13 (up to the second step on the stairs

Thursday - Corey felt well enough this morning to go on a ride, yay, so we did to the ruins and techy section, our usual. 11.24 miles, we took it easy, 1 hour 42 min, to achievements today other than getting out the door. Good enough for me. Also, my legs are solidly sore from yesterday! That surprised me, but I guess it goes to show that different exercises use different muscles, even if they are both leg (biking vs. jump lunges and squats)

Friday - morning walk, 2.8 miles, 44 minutes. Did a headstand at Sunrise point. :) Although I'm still stiff and sore from the fit test. I need to do better at stretching.
Saturday - It rained last night, so we didn't go to corner canyon (mud is a little more sticky there) and did a late morning ride up the Quarry Trail (left at 8:30) - 11.26 miles, 1 hour 39 min, no achievements
