It is a nice day outside. Bike ride to Glacial Park's bishops home for the keys to the church, then to the Mt Jordan chapel, them back home. Natalie and I stretched for 30+ minutes. I felt so great after (I did TEN V3s!) which is good cause we had a busy day ahead of us with the wedding dinner, so it was good that I was feeling empowered. Did 18 total:

1 V4 attempt (near the end of my session, just to see what I could do. I got half way up!)

10 V3 sends - first one I did today was a black V3 on the north boulder, and I got it! It was kinda easy, so then I did it again and got it, so I already had two V3s, I thought maybe I'd just do V3s most of the time today. I went over to do the blue one I've done before but it was gone, must have been stripped cause it was fairly new... but there was a new white V3 in it's place (in the OG by the bathroom wall), I tried it and got it! so I was feeling empowered with three V3s done - tried the Red and got, did the Blue (by the hot pink) and got that!!! Did the Purple 3x! And then at the very end I saw another new Red by where the orange V2 is, I thought I'd try it but didn't think I'd get it cause I was wasted, but I tried it and got it! Then I was at 9 V3s for the day, so decided to do the Purple one one more time for a total of 10.

4 V3 attempt - one on the Hot pink, I've done before 2 others on a hot pink on the 40 wall which I have not done before, also tried a yellow

1 V2 - warm up, new one by the white V3 I did today

1 V2 attempt - stupid purple V2 that I can't get, right by the hot pink

1 V1 - warm up, new one by the white V3 I did today

Saturday - Ethan and Bella's wedding. Cause I like it better when there aren't many people, which = morning. So even though I climbed yesterday and I knew my palms wouldn't be able to handle much I decided to go try those V3s from yesterday. AND guess what! I did one warm up on the V1 and my palms were like "Ahh! NO! Not yet!!! Were not ready!" and I thought "shoot... I'm not going to be able to do this..." I pondered for a moment and then went and did an easy hanging V2, palms still hurt. Do I got home? If I hurry home, then maybe Corey won't have to wake up Peter and Katharine for Books and Bagels... but... I'd feel stupid facing the girl at the front desk if I went back and turned in my rental shoes so quickly. Well, I'll just try the blue V3... and I DID IT! I felt empowered. Look at me! Maybe I'll try the hot pink V3 again! Did, and sent it! I still had the whole area to myself, so wasn't afraid of looking stupid in front of anyone else, so then I did the RED V3 and I got that one too! Then sent the purple one, and attempted a few other V3s. Felt good! 10 total:

4 V3 sends - Blue, Hot pink, Red and Purple!

3 V3 attempts - another blue (by hot pink), another hot pink (by white V2), and a black (where green V3 used to be)

1 V2 - purple with lots of holds on 45 wall

1 V1 - purple in OG by blue V3

Feeling super proud of myself! Peter's been sick and Corey feels a little sick too, so the two of them have been quarantined in our room today. I left to go climbing at 12:30pm. I invited Lily but she didn't take me up on it. I miss Wes! I did 17:

2 V3 attempts - red hanging one in OG, Yellow one on east side of OG boulder

2 V3 sends - the purple hanging one! I got it today no problem on the first try, then did the V2 of it right after, then did it again. Tried a 3rd time and didn't get it. The green V3 was gone today - they were putting new climbs on that wall. I hope there's a new V3 I can get.

6 V2s, one was a green one on the OG south wall that I'd tried once before, got it today!

5 V1s

2 V0s

Then went on a walk to finish delivering the last 8 shower invitations, then walk to sunrise point. On my walk home from the stake center I was balancing a rock on my head. That made me walk with good posture! 3.37 miles in 1:06

Tuesday - nothing. In a real funk today, didn't even want to stretch

Wednesday - Bouldering after taking carpool. Did 20:

1 V3 attempt - Hot pink one in OG. I think I can do it if I start fresh next time!

2 V3 sends - the purple hanging one again - got it first try np, AND did it again at the very end and was able to do it!

7 V2s, one was an orange one on the south boulder that I hadn't been able to do - got it first try today

3 V2 attempts - purple jump one twice in OG, it's the last V2 I need to do in that section, and a green one on the south boulder. I think the green one is not possible for short people.

7 V1s - some were new ones that I just hadn't seen or tried before, flashed them all

Then perhaps to make up for yesterday, I also went on an evening bike ride. Took the opportunity cause the sky was half clear and it looked nice outside. I just biked up the canyon road. Was 41 degrees, and it got colder as I got further up the canyon. It was wet. Not raining, just went from snow melting. The wet ground wasn't a problem on the slow climb up the canyon, but it did make it hard to see on the fast ride down, when the water and the salt from the snow melt that covered the roads sprayed all over my face from my tires turning quickly around. It gave me lots of dirty freckles!

Note to self for next time: wear glasses if you want to be able to see!

Thursday - I usually don't boulder two days in a row, but thought I'd try today and then when I go Saturday I'll have had enough rest. I tried to only do V2s, but did one V1 as a cool down. Total 20:

5 V3 attempts - just trying different ones - 2green & a black on north boulder, and hot pink from yesterday (I do think I can get that one if I start fresh, but didn't start it fresh today)

1 V3 send - did the purple hanging one at the end of the session, woot!

9 V2 sends - orange one on north boulder twice

1 V1 send - as cooldown

Friday - Did 40 divebombers with the goal to beat my 2012 time. I didn't see what it was before I started, did first 10 in 37 seconds, then next 10 up until 1:19, then paused to see how I did it last time (timed each set of 10 separately? or let the clock keep going?) I think I left the clock going. But I saw I was crushing my 2012 times! 2012 I did 10 - 0:57, then to 20 - 2:59, then to 30 - 4:48, Finished 40 - 7:54. Today was:

First 10 - 37 seconds

up to 20 - 1:19 - took a 1 min pause to look at 2012 times...

30 finished in 39 seconds to make total time 2:58

Last 10 took me 1.37, total time 4:35!!!

Awesome! I guess that's what bouldering will do for your upper body strength! Tried to do a handstand later but could only hold it for 40 seconds. Did a 1 min headstand.

Saturday - Corey and I almost went on a bike ride, but then I got a flat tire on the van and had to take that in and so the ride fell out of the day's plans. But we did go climbing at Momentum with the kids, which is good cause we've been paying for a family pass but not having the family use it. Maybe we'll change to just a couple's pass. I do want to keep climbing in the spring and summer, fingers crossed we can work it into the budget. I didn't climb much tonight with the kids there - Sophi and I did a little bit of bouldering, but then she looked bored so I took her over to do top rope and then I belayed for 40 minutes. We took two cars, so when Corey left with the kids, I stayed and bouldered a little bit longer. Total for tonight was 22:

7 V3 attempts - got a little closer on the hot pink one on the 45 wall, tried one on the 40 wall too, and a green on the north boulder

5 V3 send - the purple hanging one over and over

6 V2 sends - orange one on north boulder twice

3 V1 sends

1 V0

Tiffaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14508201361489460187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664547955827983512.post-44204949025717692402024-02-12T21:50:00.000-08:002024-02-23T15:04:22.587-08:00Feb 12 - 17
Monday - Climbing this morning. It was 49 degrees and the sun was shining, and I had two babysitters at home (home sick) so I went for a quick ride. 1 hour 6 min, 9.51 miles, took the road up LCC. Road is a bit boring and I was a little nervous of cars coming up behind me, but it was ok. I decided to stop at the 3rd bridge cause my sit bones couldn't take it anymore. I didn't have a padded seat nor my padded shorts, and haven't given my seat any conditioning since Nov. I did get 4 achievements though - LCC approach to gate S was a PR of 25:16. LCC mile 1 PR 11:35, Victorie Interval PR 7:12, and 2nd place on one mile test. Last year (4/27/23) I did that in 15:52, was 16:31 today.

Wednesday - Climbing this morning, did 17:

2 V3 attempt - two new ones, blue and pink, both in OG sector

FIVE V3 sends! - (Yes... four of those were the green one...) I moved up Katharine's toy kitchen up two flights of stairs by myself! 10 minutes of stretching

Thursday - bouldering this morning, 18 total - 16 sends, 2 attempts. I believe that the green V2 on the south side of the north boulder is hereby impossible. There were new routes in the OG sector, tried a Red V3 that is where the black V2 used to be. Hard, but maybe doable? I might be too short. Lots of housework again. I moved two small filing cabinets (two drawers) up two flights of stairs by myself, oh yeah. Plus 20 handstands against the wall, held twice for 40 seconds, rest of them were just quick stable holds

Friday - quick toprope session at the Sandy Momentum after date night - Corey already exercised today, so he just belayed me. Did 5 climbs, two intros, like 5.8 and 5.9 I think, then I did 5.10a, 5.10c, and a 5.10a cooldown which was really hard at the end. Good to feel maxed out.

Saturday - morning walk/dance, 3.27 miles, 52 minutes, 1 achievement of my "3rd fastest time for 2 miles" (32:52) I did 200 walking lunges on the way home, 75, 75, then 50. Stretched this morning with Mel, 20 minutes, 5 min nose to knee each side, then repeat but with knee bent (not the knee I'm putting my nose to). then Skiing at Brian Head! It was fun.

Tuesday - Top Rope with Wes at 8pm, we both did 4 climbs. Green 5.10b, then the 5.10 c that I wasn't able to do last time. I had to take a break, and after struggling a bit I finally got over the lip. Then did a pretty easy yellow 5.10a. After those 3 we were spent, but I tried to go for one more, only got half way o up a blue 5.10c, woo! That is a workout! Then we shook it our and did some quick bouldering, I was able to go five V2s that have all been challenging, sent them first try, which is good since we were so tired.

Wednesday - shoveled snow this morning, again this afternoon.

Thursday - two 10 min sessions stretching my back on the orange thing, 100 seconds hollow hold

Friday - climbing after carpool 1 V0, 5 V1s, 5 V2 sends, 2 V2 attempts, 1 V3 attempt that purple hanging one. I took a 9am morning walk to the van, whereupon I learned that I got a ticket for parking overnight, doh. Borrowed Joseph's skis and clothes and did 3 runs on Milly's Express.

Tuesday - Walked to school with Natalie this morning. Bouldering at 2:30 while Corey did cardio. Did 23 climbs, 13 attempts and 10 sends. I finally did the stupid purple V2 in the OG "The 30 Prow" that is right on the edge by the bathroom with a really weird and big hold for the start. It is not a kind climb if you are short, but I finally did it, yay. Next time I'm going to try the purple V2 in the OG sector - it has a wide reach that is also not kind to me as a short person. I started it from the wide stretch part and was able to get to the top, and I can get to the wide stretch part from the beginning, so I'll try that fresh next time.

Wednesday - 2.45 mile walk at 9pm. 44 minutes. Listened to Jody Moore podcast 207 on my walk. Two hoodlums in cars were chasing each other around the quiet neighborhood where I was walking, it was scary!! They were going so fast. It seemed like one of them was raged at the other and the other might have been trying to get away, they could have totally killed someone or crashed into a car head on cause one of them passed the other one on a corner. It was scary.

Thursday - climbing around 10:30 am, in the OG sector I attempted a white V4, a green V3, I'm getting closer to those. Today I finally did a purple V2 that's been eluding me, attempted it twice and then got it on the third try today. Total of 14 attempts on that one! It was good. 10 sends and 10 attempts for a total of 20 today. Knicked my pointer finger near the end, once I draw blood, then I'm done.

Friday - shoveled snow, didn't overeat, yay. Did a lot of housework today, organizing.

Saturday - Skiing at Sundance, our first time there, it was fun! Then climbing around 7 tonight, 19 total, I did a black V3 on the North boulder, attempted a green v3 that was next to it a few times. started with the three hardest V2 for me in the OG sector, did them again at the end
Tiffaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14508201361489460187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664547955827983512.post-10229654672319514542023-12-25T09:15:00.000-08:002024-01-10T17:33:26.669-08:00Dec 25 - 30
Monday - Merry Christmas. Had a goal to get to 30:

2 V3 attempts

10 V2 sends (couldn't do the black V2 from last one at all! Maybe I need Wes there).

1 V2 attempt - green slab in OG sector

13 V1 sends

1 V1 attempt - first try of the red one on the north boulder. Sent it on 2nd attempt

4 V0s

Tuesday - It was a fairly warm afternoon - 50 degrees! So I took a quick ride along the fish tail. Silver bike, I was working hard and thought I was going pretty fast, but received no achievements. :( sad

Wednesday - held a 2 min plank this morning, then climbing with Corey at 2, did a few new V1s and V2s. Total 18 sends. Then stretched my legs for 20 minutes

Thursday - Corey went to gym, then I went there too. Walked for 22 min on treadmill while I watched a few Dr. Berg videos. Then a 3 min plank (30 sec on hands, then slid/lowered to elbows for 30, them was able to bring myself back up to hands (without having to do one arm at a time!) and did that two more times, total 3 min, then 100 second superman. Then a few climbs - 4 attempts (a cute little boy, prob 8 years old, was with me and we both tried that purple V3 twice, we're both too short though! He is so good though, I saw him do an orange V6 on the north boulder, so impressed), 5 sends (black V2 3 times and two purple V2s)

Friday - Joseph brought my Fezzari bike back from Lindon after a repair, and it was a warm afternoon so I did a quick fishtail ride. 5.95 miles, 28 min 33 seconds, I got two achievements! 2nd place on the approach hill which surprised me, time 4:47 (. Also 3rd place for wasatch blvd light to the mouth of canyon, 1.59 miles in 10:25 (PR time on 9/2/23 was 8:13, so still lots of room for improvement there)

Saturday - I finished Christmas errands - got one last gift for Owen at fashion place mall, then went to Momentum. 9 V2 sends and a few attempts, I did a purple V2 that I hadn't done before, the one in the OG sector on the northeast corner of the boulder, I did it! I also did a blue V2 in the OG sector that I hadn't been able to do before, yay. I like just getting further on a climb than I've gotten the time before. On a green V2 I got to the almost last hold, yay. I only have a few V2s to do, but some of them seem a bit impossible
Tiffaniehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14508201361489460187noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5664547955827983512.post-127254014866234672023-12-11T13:48:00.000-08:002023-12-18T19:36:02.531-08:00Dec 11 - 16
Monday - Climbing this morning by myself. I thought it would be fun to walk up the steep sandy hill barefoot, and it was fun! I was "grounding" haha.

Tuesday - climbing with Wes this morning after carpool. We worked hard! Total today was 21:

1 V3 attempt (black on north boulder)

6 V2 sends (purple OG, Blue north, Purple OG that Wes can do with just his arms by jumping to hold 4 today was my first time doing it! Didn't realize so many of those are called Purple OG... next time I'll write down what makes each of those problems different/unique

4 V1 sends (pink south, black OG, Green OG, Blue north)

3 V0 sends (black south, lavender OG, Purple northeast)

Wednesday - morning jog with a little walking, 2.34 miles, 28 minutes. It was my 2nd fastest time on Strava for 1/2, 1 and 2 miles. 1/2 4:17, 1 mile 9:51, 2 miles 25:39. Now I've done all the V1s. I learned today that you can search the climbs on Kaya by level of difficulty. I searched the V1s - there are 12, and I had done all of them but that red V1, so I did it today. Took two tries. There are 22 V2s, and I've done 10. So fun, I was like giddy. Couldn't do too much, but it was great to be back. I sent FOUR V2s! First one was a Yellow one on the south boulder. Wes said Corey did it in two attempts, so I had to do it. I was able to do it first try, yay! Then next was a Blue V2 that had nice jug holds, that I attempted last time but my hands were spent, I knew I could do it if I started fresh, and I was able to do that first try today, woo! Then there was a purple V2 right next to that one that I did next, was feeling pretty good after all those. Then I did some V1s and V0s, ended with a V2 on the north boulder. I tried but was too shaky, Wes did it, told me I had to, and then I shook out my arms and went fast and was able to do it. There's a purple and black in the OG sector that I'm going to try first time next time when I'm fresh. I love climbing! Finished a daily gallon of water at 3:15pm. Going to see if drinking a gallon a day helps with weight loss or with my body feeling better.

Tuesday - It's been too cold for us to take morning bike rides this past week, and Corey is feeling very not good, so we had to go today. We left at 3:30 and were able to do a pre-Halloween ride like we did last year. Felt great to be in the mountain, but it was super cold!!! I got 4 achievements:

Wednesday - Sophi came home sick today, threw up at school (she ate a candy bar for breakfast...) sooo, since I had a sitter, I went for a quick ride at 2, since I knew I wasn't going to be able to do an evening ride (Owen had a dentist appt to get a cavity fixed at 4). Went to Corner Canyon for an hour, Did Rush, then Canyon Hollow, and Rush down and an extra Rush lap, 7.31 miles, 1 hour 3 min, 15 achievements (I did lower Rush 3 times, got a PR of 59 seconds! 59 seconds my first go down, then 1:02, then 59 again. I was glad I broke a minute!) I don't know where the other sections are that I got achievements for, except for Silica Pit and Rush, I did that in 4:50! Previous records was 5:01 on 7/15/23. He waited for me a few times and I walked a few times, but I lifted his bike at the top, mine is a lot heavier (aluminum) his is carbon fiber. We might let me upgrade sometime. Corey teased "Just get your bike stolen!" Wes watched the kids for us, total distance 11.70 miles, 1:31:34 for me, no achievements on the climb, but today was the most fun I've had on the descent! I got a PR for the fastest section alive - 3:53 (I broke 4 min!) I wasn't scared today, I picked good lines and it wasn't crazy bumpy, just fun and fast. Didn't do on a ride cause I had a dentist appt this morning. Might try and go later after I get back from violin. I hesitated this morning, Corey left, I decided to go and drove to the trailhead in time to meet him when he arrived there. He biked up to the ruins, I did techy twice. I like techy. Good stuff. 6.9 miles, 1 hour 10 min.

Tuesday - Got up early today - drove to Wayne's then went up BCC, Wayne took Corey's car back to his house and Corey and I rode down there from Guardsman.

I didn't remember to turn on my Strava until half way up "puke hill". So we'll go with Corey's stats: 22 miles, 2 hours, 1015 elevation. It was our longest ride on Strava! (my 2nd longest ride was around Park City on June 23 last year). Corey had his phone set up, so I erroneously just trusted where he was telling me to go.

AND because of that, we went down two black diamond trails, Millcreek Meadows and Little Water descent.

Next time I'll lead! It felt soo good on my throat! Maybe it will cure my hacking! I also remember a while back I was on a coconut oil kick and it made my skin feel so much better. Maybe the oil will also cure my itchy flaky scalp. I rode over to the school with Natalie and Daniel and then went on a very short ride. I was going to do the fishtail as fast as I could, then as I was coming to Wasatch, after keeping a good speed and feeling tired, I said "I actually don't want to do this..." and I turned around. Stretched for 40 minutes though! That was good. Weight before date night 133.4, yay. I'm hopeful that probiotics and coconut oil will cure some of what ails me.

Saturday - I was able to go on a ride tonight and see the lovely leaves.

I did our usual ride, the quarry trail, but I didn't get any personal bests because I kept stopping to take pictures of the mountains and the trees.

It was GORGEOUS!

I was soaking it up. Didn't get out the door this morning. 20 against the wall handstands, 5 right 5 left 5 R 5 L. I was able to make an escape this evening. I drove up BigCC (lovely fall leaves!) over Guardsman pass and down in to Park City. Started at 4:50 up Armstrong, past HAM and was on Mid Mountain but then turned around cause I was worried about getting stuck on the mountain in the dark. I came down Armstrong (even though it is uphill only) and took HAM and Spiro down back to the car. Total distance 9.25 miles, 1 hour 35 min. 10 achievements with some PRs beating our Park City times!
