Dec 25 - 30

Monday - Merry Christmas. Overate

Tuesday - Corey and I left at 10 am for St. George. Went by Momentum in Sandy first, bouldered for about 45 minutes, then a 4 hour drive. Arrived in St. George around 3, went straight to the trailhead close to the Worldmark, did the Zen loop, then did Three Fingers and Bear Claw before it got too dark. Total distance 10.57 miles, 2 hours 7 minutes, elevation 1412

Wednesday - At 2:20 we started a ride up Gooseberry Mesa. Did the South Rim trail up all the way to the viewpoint...
...then took the north rim back down to 10.21 miles, 2 hours 15 minutes, 644 elevation gain. It was not a black diamond trail.

It was other worldly and super fun!!

Thursday - Fun dancing in the front room with the kids. Climbing.

Friday - up to Wolfcreek

Saturday - little bit of skiing at Nordic valley, climbing in the evening while Corey visited with friends from Guate

Dec 18 - 23

Monday - Climbing this afternoon by myself. Had a goal to get to 30:

  • 2 V3 attempts
  • 10 V2 sends (couldn't do the black V2 from last one at all! Maybe I need Wes there).
  • 1 V2 attempt - green slab in OG sector
  • 13 V1 sends
  • 1 V1 attempt - first try of the red one on the north boulder. Sent it on 2nd attempt
  • 4 V0s
Tuesday - It was a fairly warm afternoon - 50 degrees! So I took a quick ride along the fish tail. Silver bike, I was working hard and thought I was going pretty fast, but received no achievements. :( sad

Wednesday - held a 2 min plank this morning, then climbing with Corey at 2, did a few new V1s and V2s. Total 18 sends. Then stretched my legs for 20 minutes

Thursday - Corey went to gym, then I went there too. Walked for 22 min on treadmill while I watched a few Dr. Berg videos. Then a 3 min plank (30 sec on hands, then slid/lowered to elbows for 30, them was able to bring myself back up to hands (without having to do one arm at a time!) and did that two more times, total 3 min, then 100 second superman. Then a few climbs - 4 attempts (a cute little boy, prob 8 years old, was with me and we both tried that purple V3 twice, we're both too short though! He is so good though, I saw him do an orange V6 on the north boulder, so impressed), 5 sends (black V2 3 times and two purple V2s)

Friday - Joseph brought my Fezzari bike back from Lindon after a repair, and it was a warm afternoon so I did a quick fishtail ride. 5.95 miles, 28 min 33 seconds, I got two achievements! 2nd place on the approach hill which surprised me, time 4:47 (. Also 3rd place for wasatch blvd light to the mouth of canyon, 1.59 miles in 10:25 (PR time on 9/2/23 was 8:13, so still lots of room for improvement there)

Saturday - I finished Christmas errands - got one last gift for Owen at fashion place mall, then went to Momentum. 9 V2 sends and a few attempts, I did a purple V2 that I hadn't done before, the one in the OG sector on the northeast corner of the boulder, I did it! I also did a blue V2 in the OG sector that I hadn't been able to do before, yay. I like just getting further on a climb than I've gotten the time before. On a green V2 I got to the almost last hold, yay. I only have a few V2s to do, but some of them seem a bit impossible

Dec 11 - 16

Monday - Climbing this morning by myself. Did 23 and none of them were V0s:

  • 3 V3 attempts, none of them were close at all, lol
  • 8 V2 sends (couldn't do the black V2 from last one at all! Maybe I need Wes there).
  • 4 V2 attempts
  • 7 V1 sends
  • 1 V1 attempt - the red one on the north boulder. Try it first next time
Tuesday - stretch legs for 15 minutes

Wednesday - bouldering:
  • 1 V3 attempts (green round one on south boulder)
  • 8 V2 sends (did the black!)
  • 2 V2 attempts
  • 5 V1 sends
Thursday - little bit of stretching during scriptures

Friday - 40 minutes stretching, was ready to climb this morning after carpool but Katharine had me up at 4, I didn't have energy for it so I came home. I was hoping we'd go after date night or something but weren't able to, should have gone this morning.

Saturday - 1.1 miles walking on treadmill, 10 min stretching, then bouldering:
  • 5 V2 sends - 4 purple ones and after 3 attempts I did the black one! With Wesley's help
  • 8 V2 attempts (4 problems, 2x each)
  • 1 V1 sends
  • 2 V0 sends
then Corey belayed me for two long wall climbs, a 5.10a that had me totally wasted at the top, thankfully it was right next to an intro climb, so I had to finish off with that at the top, and then I did the intro climb as fast as I could and my arms were burning.

Dec 4 - 9

Monday - Went on an afternoon walk (Abi was home sick) 1 hour 38 minutes, 4.61 miles, I did the last 45 minutes barefoot. I thought it would be fun to walk up the steep sandy hill barefoot, and it was fun! I was "grounding" haha.

Tuesday - climbing with Wes this morning after carpool. We worked hard! Now I have a blister on my left palm. Total today was 21:
  • 1 V3 attempt (black on north boulder)
  • 6 V2 sends (purple OG, Blue north, Purple OG that Wes can do with just his arms by jumping to hold 4 today was my first time doing it! Purple North, Yellow south, black OG on the northwest side, I was shaky. that one was a first too!)
  • 7 V2 attempt (yellow south, purple OG, purple OG, Purple OG, Purple OG weird one on the corner with the big slab), black OG, purple 40 wall, I touched the last hold again, next time I'm going to try it first when my hands are fresh and I'm going to get it!) Didn't realize so many of those are called Purple OG... next time I'll write down what makes each of those problems different/unique
  • 4 V1 sends (pink south, black OG, Green OG, Blue north)
  • 3 V0 sends (black south, lavender OG, Purple northeast)
Wednesday - morning jog with a little walking, 2.34 miles, 28 minutes. It was my 2nd fastest time on Strava for 1/2, 1 and 2 miles. 1/2 4:17, 1 mile 9:51, 2 miles 25:39. Listened to Caution Wasatch Style a few times, it was good jogging music.

Thursday - Climbing this morning by myself.
Try it first next time
Friday - shoveled the driveway

Saturday - climbing at 9pm with Lily, Owen, Daniel and Peter. I did that last red V1! Now I've done all the V1s. I learned today that you can search the climbs on Kaya by level of difficulty. I searched the V1s - there are 12, and I had done all of them but that red V1, so I did it today. Took two tries. There are 22 V2s, and I've done 10. Something to work on this next week!

Nov 27 - Dec 2

Monday - handstands, 25 min stretching, aaaaand today we got a Momentum family pass, so I went climbing at 10pm! So fun, I was like giddy. Couldn't do too much, but it was great to be back. Total of 20:

  • Sent 8 V0s
  • sent 5 V1s
  • 4 other V1 attempts
  • 3 V2 attempts

Tuesday - quick cold bike ride to the school with Natalie and Daniel. It was cold cold cold!!

Wednesday - Went climbing, did 17:
  • 8 V0 sends
  • 6 V1 sends
  • 3 V2 attempts
Thursday - Corey's iliacus stretcher thing arrived today, I used that on my iliacus and psoas muscles, total of 20 min.

Friday - Climbing this morning with Wes, yay! I sent FOUR V2s! First one was a Yellow one on the south boulder. Wes said Corey did it in two attempts, so I had to do it. I was able to do it first try, yay! Then next was a Blue V2 that had nice jug holds, that I attempted last time but my hands were spent, I knew I could do it if I started fresh, and I was able to do that first try today, woo! Then there was a purple V2 right next to that one that I did next, was feeling pretty good after all those. Then I did some V1s and V0s, ended with a V2 on the north boulder. I tried but was too shaky, Wes did it, told me I had to, and then I shook out my arms and went fast and was able to do it. There's a purple and black in the OG sector that I'm going to try first time next time when I'm fresh. I love climbing! Wes showing off in the OG sector, hanging upside down!
This was a black V3. Both of us kept saying our hands were done, but then we'd try one more.
Total today was 22:
  • 1 V3 attempt
  • 4 V2 sends (blue 45 wall, purple 55 cave, purple north, yellow south)
  • 6 V2 attempts (purple 40 wall, purple 30 prow, purple 10&60, black 10&60, purple north, blue 45)
  • 6 V1 sends
  • 5 V0 sends
Also stretched my legs for 40 minutes and shoveled the driveway  :)

Saturday - shoveled this morning. Had a ward party tonight, but Wes, Ethan, Bella, Lily and I all went climbing for like 35 minutes. We went hard since we knew it was closing at 10.  I did 18
  • 1 V3 attempt (purple 10&60)
  • 4 V2 sends (yellow south, purple north, purple cave, blue 45 wall - same as yesterday)
  • 5 V2 attempts (purple 40 wall 2x, green south, purple 20&30, purple 10&60)
  • 4 V1 sends
  • 1 V1 attempt (red one on the north boulder)
  • 3 V0 sends

Nov 20 - 25

Monday - Walk at sunset (a little jogging), 2.95 miles, 5,582 steps.

Tuesday - Fish Tail ride, 5.64 miles in 27 minutes. I didn't beat any of my previous times... so that was a little sad cause I was pushing hard. My throat has been sore from how hard I was breathing. I did 30 minutes of splits stretching after the ride. And that might be the last ride of the season. We took off Corey's rack from his car, temperatures will be cold this next week. Headed up to Park City tonight after Hyrum gets here.

Wednesday - At Park City. Did a few laps of swimming in the pool this morning, front stroke, back stroke, side strokes, etc. Felt good to stretch.

Thursday - Still in PC, 15 min walk on treadmill, then some handstands later today at the gym

Friday - Back from PC - workout today was shoveling snow in the driveway, yay. Was going to stretch but only got in 3 min before I got interrupted

Saturday - 500 mountain climbers, stretched for 20 minutes

Monday, November 13, 2023

Nov 13 - 18

Tuesday - Up the quarry trail with Corey. He was going pretty fast. He went to the ruins, I did techy twice instead. Did all the obstacles the first go through, yay. 11.39 miles, 1 hour 28 min. 3 achievements on the descent (2 silvers 1 bronze). Corey got a PR for up and down with techy at 1:02:31. My goal is to take my silver bike and beat that this week. He also got a PR for the fastest section at 3:27.

Wednesday - Going to rain tomorrow, so I knew I had to get out today. Took a ride by myself in corner Canyon, had to hurry and beat the sunset. I did Canyon Hollow, Brocks, Rush, the Trees, Rush the End 2x. Total 6.6 miles, 56 minutes. 5 achievements

Thursday - A lot of house work today

I got a PR for Quarry up and down with techy at 1:05:40. 3rd place for 1st bridge to top at 36:36. 3rd fastest time for DH Quarry 17:27. Techy section PR 2:56, Fastest section alive PR again! 3:32, and LCC Descent lower half PR 5:47. Power plant down 2nd fastest time 1:56

Tuesday - raked pine needles and 20 minutes of splits stretching

Wednesday - 3:15 bike ride just me, Corey started a ride around 4. It was 40 degrees (cold!) but it was good. Some snow at the top of the trail but I was able to do techy! I just did quarry up but not to the ruins, but I did do techy twice. 11.44 miles, 1 hour 32 min. On the techy loop I got a 2nd best time of 7:16. Monday, October 30, 2023

Oct 30 - Nov 4

Monday - 100 second hollow and superman with Wes, and I did two chin ups (barely). Finished a daily gallon of water at 3:15pm. Going to see if drinking a gallon a day helps with weight loss or with my body feeling better.

Tuesday - It's been too cold for us to take morning bike rides this past week, and Corey is feeling very not good, so we had to go today. We left at 3:30 and were able to do a pre-Halloween ride like we did last year. Felt great to be in the mountain, but it was super cold!!! I got 4 achievements:

Wednesday - Sophi came home sick today, threw up at school (she ate a candy bar for breakfast...) sooo, since I had a sitter, I went for a quick ride at 2, since I knew I wasn't going to be able to do an evening ride (Owen had a dentist appt to get a cavity fixed at 4). Went to Corner Canyon for an hour, Did Rush, then Canyon Hollow, and Rush down and an extra Rush lap, 7.31 miles, 1 hour 3 min, 15 achievements (I did lower Rush 3 times, got a PR of 59 seconds! 59 seconds my first go down, then 1:02, then 59 again. I was glad I broke a minute!) I don't know where the other sections are that I got achievements for, except for Silica Pit and Rush, I did that in 4:50! Previous records was 5:01 on 7/15/23. Corey did Quarry today and made it to the top in less than an hour!
He got 12 achievements, 8 of them PRs, 7 of those PRs on the climb!

Thursday - Ride with Corey at 1:00 today to the Ruins, we did techy too. My legs were tired just coming up the hill from our house. I was not feeling it today. Corey got his 2nd fastest time on the climb at 1:02, I was 1:07 to the top. He waited for me a few times and I walked a few times, but I lifted his bike at the top, mine is a lot heavier (aluminum) his is carbon fiber. We might let me upgrade sometime. Corey teased "Just get your bike stolen!" Wes watched the kids for us, total distance 11.70 miles, 1:31:34 for me, no achievements on the climb, but today was the most fun I've had on the descent! I got a PR for the fastest section alive - 3:53 (I broke 4 min!) I wasn't scared today, I picked good lines and it wasn't crazy bumpy, just fun and fast. I took a selfie of us via BeReal but it didn't save and now I'm sad. That happens a lot tho, so I think I'm done with trying to use that app to capture moments. It doesn't work half the time.

Friday - 100 seconds hollow and 100 seconds superman with Wes

Saturday - Ride to ruins and back with Corey at 4:30, 11.39 miles, 1:24:53. I was feeling great today. PR for Fastest section again! 3:50! Got 3rd fastest time for 1st bridge to top (37:11) and 3rd bridge to top (14:41) Techy section 2nd fastest time 3:22

Monday, October 23, 2023

Oct 23 - 28

Monday - Feeling sore from the mountain climbers on Saturday. Didn't do on a ride cause I had a dentist appt this morning. Might try and go later after I get back from violin. I always hate eating after a dental cleaning and getting my teeth dirty, so I ate breakfast and then haven't eaten yet. Might wait until tomorrow. Feeling good

Tuesday - Ride with Corey up the canyon to the ruins. PR for Techy and 3rd fastest time for Fastest section alive. Around 4 today I also did twenty minutes of splits stretching - 10 min each side - while I read the Book of Mormon (love to multi-task doing good stuff like that!) And one 80 second handstand against the wall.

Wednesday - Cold weather coming tomorrow, should have gone out today but didn't make it. Only did a 90 second handstand

Thursday - It was snowing this morning! Today did shoulder stretches with a broom stick

Friday - 20 minutes of splits stretching. I started to get dressed at 4 for a ride, but then decided it was too cold. Maybe tomorrow evening I'll feel brave enough

Saturday - Still super cold outside. Did one chin up today and some stretching and handstands. I hope we can join Momentum again soon.

Monday, October 16, 2023

Oct 16 - 21

Monday - Corey rode the quarry trail this morning, I went out to Corner Canyon around 4:30. I took my silver bike (guys cutting down the tree had the bottom door blocked off with the tree debris). I took BST up to Anns, then Anns over to Edelweiss, around to Ghost, down ghost and Rush. 7.27 miles, 58.09 minutes. And with my silver bike I was able to beat all my times on Ann's from this year and last year. Gold medal (emoji!)

I got PRs for:

  • Coyote Trailhead to Clarks Bridge .15 in 1:30
  • Clarks/BST intersect to Potato Hill Climb 1.01 mi 9:33
  • Clark's Bridge to BST Split .52 mi 4:54
  • Potato Hill UH from BST Intersect .48 in 4:42
  • Last 2 Turns til the tunnel .32 3:18
  • Half Ann 1.32 miles 11:15
  • Ann's Grunter .23 mi in 2:18
No PRs on Ghost falls, cause I was too busy taking in the scenery. That ride cannot be rushed.
It seemed like there were valentine hearts tossed all over the floor with love!
Pink and orange and yellow and green.
I love Ghost Falls

Tuesday - 30 minutes of stretching. This evening we hiked Y mountain for the lighting of the Y with our college kids tonight for BYU Homecoming!
Steep trail, about a mile up and a mile back down (forgot to turn on my strava). The kids all did great! Peter was sad in the pic above cause he left his spiderman lego in the car. Hard climb on the way up, hard on the knees on the descent!

Wednesday - Ruins and back with Corey. 11.3 miles according to Corey's strava, mine says 11.21. PR for techy section at 3:39. Corey got a pr too for techy, 3.29. He was behind me and we were right with each other, so I'm not sure how that works. Splits stretching. Emotional Health - had a breakdown today that came up all of a sudden when Owen couldn't find his straw for trumpet (that his teacher just barely gave him) so I was frustrated mostly, I think, with the mess of our home and how things always get lost or no one puts them away where they belong.

Thursday - 20 handstands, 10 minutes of splits stretching

Friday - splits stretching

Saturday - This morning 500 mountain climbers, splits stretching, and then around 2:00 Corey and I went to Corner Canyon, did Anns, Edelweiss, and Rush with the Trees. 7.75 miles in 1 hour 1 min. Corey got PRs on everything on the climb! I got lots of 17 achievements, PRs on the descent. The full Rush via Trees time was a PR at 15:42.
  • Rus top 2/3 - 10:49
  • Scheming weasel - 4:33
  • Trees - 5:37
  • Fly by night to Rush 3:05
  • Full Lower Rush - 9:48
  • Mystic Rhythms - 3:58
  • Sustained Speed - 1:15
  • Rushing Corners Two - 1:42
  • Chainless Rush - 3:45
  • Rush the End - 28 seconds
Silver bike = good times on the climb. Fezzari = good times on the descent (if I'm feeling brave!)

Monday, October 9, 2023

Oct 9 - 14

Monday - I think we have two good days for rides this week, today and tomorrow, and then the rest of the week it's going to be cold. I hesitated this morning, Corey left, I decided to go and drove to the trailhead in time to meet him when he arrived there. He biked up to the ruins, I did techy twice. I like techy. Good stuff. 6.9 miles, 1 hour 10 min.

Tuesday - Got up early today - drove to Wayne's then went up BCC, Wayne took Corey's car back to his house and Corey and I rode down there from Guardsman.
I didn't remember to turn on my Strava until half way up "puke hill". So we'll go with Corey's stats: 22 miles, 2 hours, 1015 elevation. It was our longest ride on Strava! (my 2nd longest ride was around Park City on June 23 last year). Corey had his phone set up, so I erroneously just trusted where he was telling me to go.
AND because of that, we went down two black diamond trails, Millcreek Meadows and Little Water descent.
Next time I'll lead! He also didn't know where the trail was, so after we got to Upper Big Water trailhead, we ended up just taking the road the rest of the way down. That was fast so was cold for the last 8 miles and 26 minutes. Beautiful though!
We might go up there for a cook out tonight.

Wednesday - rain, stressed about life, ate too many goldfish crackers tonight, pm weight 140. Started taking a Garden of Life Daily probiotic this evening.

Thursday - Rainy. Stretched. Fasted all day and ate curry and rice for dinner. Bought a book at the DI called "Virgin Coconut Oil" by Brain and Marianita Jader Shilhavy. Then I went and bought coconut oil.

Friday - Corey went on a ride this morning, First thing I did this morning was take a teaspoon of virgin coconut oil. It felt soo good on my throat! Maybe it will cure my hacking! I also remember a while back I was on a coconut oil kick and it made my skin feel so much better. Maybe the oil will also cure my itchy flaky scalp. I rode over to the school with Natalie and Daniel and then went on a very short ride. I was going to do the fishtail as fast as I could, then as I was coming to Wasatch, after keeping a good speed and feeling tired, I said "I actually don't want to do this..." and I turned around. Stretched for 40 minutes though! That was good. Weight before date night 133.4, yay. I'm hopeful that probiotics and coconut oil will cure some of what ails me.

Saturday - I was able to go on a ride tonight and see the lovely leaves.
I did our usual ride, the quarry trail, but I didn't get any personal bests because I kept stopping to take pictures of the mountains and the trees.
It was GORGEOUS!
I was soaking it up. I took my time and told myself "There is more to life than increasing it's speed". I didn't beat any of my ride times for any of the segments, but I did enjoy the colors and the trees and the smells. I did techy three times, and I even made it up the hill on my first go, yay! Pic below was on the way down - on avalanche hill - so pretty seeing the sun shine on the leaves on the mountains on the other side of the canyon.
So that filled my cup. I'm amazed at this beautiful world.

Monday, October 2, 2023

Oct 2 - 7

Monday - rainy morning, with some snow in the mountains! Active rest day at home, did a lot of cleaning in the basement and vacuuming and going up and down the stairs

Tuesday - Wes took carpool, Corey went on a ride, I went on a jog/walk 2.81 miles, 33 minutes.

Wednesday - Raining. Corey went biking, I went on a very short 15 min walk up Bells canyon, collected some pretty leaves.

Thursday - Lousy night last night with Kat and Peter waking me up like 20 times. Didn't get out the door this morning. 20 against the wall handstands, 5 right 5 left 5 R 5 L. I was able to make an escape this evening. I drove up BigCC (lovely fall leaves!) over Guardsman pass and down in to Park City. Started at 4:50 up Armstrong, past HAM and was on Mid Mountain but then turned around cause I was worried about getting stuck on the mountain in the dark. I came down Armstrong (even though it is uphill only) and took HAM and Spiro down back to the car. Total distance 9.25 miles, 1 hour 35 min. 10 achievements with some PRs beating our Park City times! PR for: Armstrong to Mid mountain (4.03 miles in 51:37 min, previous PR 7/31 57:01), Lower Armstrong (1.08 in 11:29, previous PR 8/4 12:34), Dawns to HAM (1.43 in 17:04, previous PR 8/4 was 18:48), Rock it (.19 in 2:18, previous 8/4 2:32) Upper Armstrong (.81 in 13:00, previous PR 7/31 15:25). 2nd place on my Spiro descent and some 3rd places on other Spiro segments. Hoping to go ride again tomorrow and/or Saturday.

Friday - Temple initiatories at 1:30, then went on a ride. 6.85 miles, 1 hour 1 min. Went to Silica then down the end of Rush, then connector to Canyon Hollow, up Ghost Falls, over to Peakview, down Rush, the Trees, 18 achievements, said I did rush the end in 29 seconds? I don't think that's right. Anyway, Strava said 3 PRs, 10 silvers, and 5 bronze.

Saturday - Went on a walk at 8:45 am, 5805 steps, 49 minutes, 2.84 miles. Also explored a little in the mountains with the kids this evening.
We need to get out in the mountains more often.
At Dogwood -
Then to Hidden Waterfall

Monday, September 25, 2023

Monday - Ride with Corey, he went to ruins, I turned at techy. PR for techy 3:45, also for techy "cool way" loop 2nd place at 9:08. PR for Power plant down, 2:06. Good stuff.

Tuesday - I took carpool today, C&W went to Corner Canyon. Two one minute handstands, one chin up, 100 sec hollow hold.

Wednesday - Ride with Corey, Ruins, Techy, and Techgnar.

Thursday - morning walk, talked to Nicole, 2.73 miles, 47 minutes

Friday - Ride with Corey this morning, 1 hour 36 min, 11.33 miles, went to Ruins, Techy down, I'm getting pretty good at techy, I usually hit all the sections. Today brief miss on the first rock pile but I did all the rest, it's fun

Saturday - Bike ride by myself in Corner Canyon this morning. 8.18 miles, 1 hour 3 min, I did Anns, Edelweiss, and then Rush down. 18 achievements out of 26 segments. (8PRs, 4 Silver, 6 Bronze) I did not beat all my PRs from last year on Nov 1, but that might be because my Fezzari is freaking heavy. I got 2nd place on Clarks to potato hill - last year was 10:42, today 11:41. I think I want to try and go do it again this year with my silver bike to see if I can get a PR, cause I think I'm stronger than I was last year, so we'll see... A few of the PRs I did get were from the trailhead to Clarks Bridge 1:35 (1:53 last year) I did get a PR for the BST intersect to Potato Hill - 5:01 today, 5:08 last year. Last two turns to the tunnel was a PR too at 3:30, previous best was 3:34. Hmm, I did have to slow down a few times until I was able to pass people, so maybe that's what the extra min is from. Half Ann, 1.32 miles, was a PR at 11:40 (11:45 last year). I did get a PR on rushing corners! PR was 2:45 on 6/24/23, today I got 2:50! I am pretty cautious and prob a little slow on the corners, so I'm glad with that 2nd place. Also got a PR for Rush Top 2/3 (10:51), The Trees (5:51), Fly By night (3:14), Mystic Rhythms (4:02). And tied my PR for Lower Rush at 1:01.

Sep 18 - 23

Monday -  Morning ride with Corey at 6:39, it was nice to get going before sunrise! Up to the ruins and back with techy. PR for techy, 3:41Also at home, did 100 seconds of hollow hold, then did Core Play Day 1 again, but instead of 3 rounds of 10, I just did 30 reps of each, so:

  • 30 leg raises
  • 30 eagle crunches
  • 30 touch the toes
  • 30 each side - on back legs side to side

Tuesday - carpool in the AM, evening ride at 6:40, it was dark on my way down so I took it very slow. Might need to get a head and bike lamp. 8.62 miles, 1 hour 19 min (Corey picked me up at the trailhead lot) PR for Little C 1st bridge - .98 miles in 10:15, also PR for LCC Trail Climb to 2nd bridge, 1.85 miles in 23:47. PR for Cool way loop PR - .77 mi in 8:32

Wednesday - Corey and Wes went on a ride. I did some stretching.

Thursday - 7:15 am ride, parked on the road close to the 1st bridge, went up to Techy, did that twice, then back to the car. 5.10 miles, 57 minutes. 3 achievements - PR for Up mile 2 - 1.01 mile in 14:23, 2nd place for LCC Road climb .79 miles in 8:44, and 3rd best time for Cool Way loop (climb and techy down) .77 miles in 10:14

Friday - stretching, some handstands

Saturday - 4pm ride in Corner Canyon after I went to the temple. Rush, Canyon Hollow, Brocks, and Rush down. 55:30 min, 6.65 miles, 24 achievements, atlhough Strava is saying I did some segments that I didn't do, like Fly by night to Rush (I did "Rush the trees", not fly by night) It's ok, I did pretty good. Rush via the trees was a PR - 3.53 miles in 16:39. Rush is fun. Good music - Brand New and Love Runs Out have been two of my favorites this summer.

Sep 11- 16

Monday - Corey's going on a ride with a neighbor up Big Mountain on Wed, and he wanted to do it this morning to test himself. I'm guessing he'll take tomorrow off. That is a good climb. I was a slightly reluctant biker this morning, but I was able to handle it mostly, prob cause I took Saturday off. (I can't believe I did it three times during the week we stayed at Snowbird!) Corey and I both got 7 achievements (3 PRs) on the descent, nothing on the climb though. 8.09 miles, 1:37 minutes. 1580 feet elevation

Tuesday -  Shorter ride with Corey this morning - up the quarry trail just past avalanche hill and back. 8.2 miles, 58 minutes.

Wednesday - Corey and Wes went on a ride this morning, I didn't feel like it. I was kinda in a funk today, carried over from yesterday (too much ice cream might be the culprit). I did stretching from the Core Play. I wanted to go on a ride this evening, but I stayed home and made dinner instead. I'll be ready to go in the morning.

Thursday - I left for a ride at 6:37 this morning, Corey stayed up too late, so he didn't come with me. 10.87 miles, 1 hour 25 min, I went to the techy section and back. Techy section is fun. I got a bronze for the fastest section alive, 4:14 (PR is 4:01 from 8/14/23)

Friday - I took carpool this morning, so Corey and Wes went on a ride. I went on a short morning walk to the school (pushing P&K in a stroller and following O and D who wanted to ride their bikes) then just doing some stretching, 100 second hollow. Did Core Play Day 1, which was 3 rounds of:
  • 10 leg raises
  • 10 eagle crunches
  • 10 touch the toes
  • 10 each side - on back legs side to side
Saturday - 7am ride with Corey at Corner Canyon, up Canyon Hollow and Brocks, down Rush, did The End 2x. 22 achievements for me, PRs for: Canyon and Brocks 1.76 miles in 23:24; Canyon Hollow Grunter .3 miles 3:58, quite a few PRs on rush downhill but I don't know what the sections are, except for "the end" I got a PR of 1:01! Second time today was 1:06. Previous PR was 1:03 on Sept 1st.

Sep 4 - 9

Monday - We were going to do a ride with wes and Hyrum this morning but alas, it was raining, so Wes and I did the fit test instead. I improved on almost everything (tied #4) We both pushed ourselves really hard! My scores today:

  1. Push Ups - 32 on toes
  2. Jump Squats - 45
  3. 4x4s - 13
  4. Touchtoes/Knee Hug - 12
  5. Lay Down/Plank/Knee Drive - 25
  6. Jump Lunges - 50
  7. Burpees w/push ups - 12
  8. Forward Backward Touchdowns - 26.5
  9. Elbow Ups - 27
  10. Box Jumps - 22

Good job Wes!

We finished off with a 60 second superman hold - Peter did it with Wes, Peter had great form!
Then in the evening we played soccer at Waterford with my brother and his kids.

Tuesday - Ride to ruins with Corey. After the 2nd bridge, Corey got an important phone call, so he walked and I walked most of it up until Lisa falls. Moving time 1:37, 11.39. I did get a PR for techy (3:55) and DH Quarry (3.6 miles in 17:07). Good stuff

Wednesday - Corey took our bikes in for a tune up yesterday, and they are still gone, so we just did a walk today, I was glad to go together, although I would have liked to go a little bit faster, but it's ok. We walked (slowly) to sunrise point and back home. 2.39 miles in 46 minutes.

Thursday - Ruins and Techy with Corey this morning. 11.22 miles, 1 hour 31 minutes. PR for temple to mushroom land 2.71 miles in 36:30, PR LCC Trail climb to 2nd bridge 1.85 miles in 24:05, and PR for 1st bridge to top 2.23 miles in 34.43. Three second best times for Up Mile 2 (14:43) Temple Quarry 2 bridge to top 1.38 in 21:51, and 3rd bridge to top 14:01. Three 3rd places too, one was Quarry up and down with techy 1:12:59. PR was 1:11:43 on 7/25/23. At the techy section I did the two rock piles and nailed the other parts of the techy section, yay! I got to the end and waited for Corey, he took a while, when he finally came he said that he took a hard fall - not fast, but on a steep part he must have been too much forward.

Friday - Wes took Hyrum to BYU Idaho today, so I had to take carpool, so no bike ride this morning. I did go at 2pm by myself, 11.94 miles, 1 hour 31 minutes, PR from LC to 1st bridge, 10:29. LC Interval on descent, 3rd fastest time 5:53. Back at home, I watched this GMB video and followed along, good stuff. First time seeing them, watched a few of their videos. Thanks youtube algorithm!

Saturday - Corey and Joseph went to Corner Canyon, I let J take my bike. I went on a walk to sunrise point 2.6 miles, 5088 steps, 44 minutes. I also went by the school and did 3 passes on the monkey bars.

Aug 28 - Sep 2

Monday - Bike ride at Corner Canyon with Wes. Did Rush the end, then Canyon Hollow, across the Corner Canyon road to Peakview trailhead, then took Rush down, did Rush the trees. Total 7.06 miles, 1 hour 5 min. Three chin ups.

Tuesday - Bide ride to the ruins and back with Corey. 11.35 miles, 1 hour 41 min. I felt like going a little slow, didn't eat dinner last night. Fit test with Hyrum after I got home from biking. Finally reached below 132 - weight after the fit test: 131.4 yay! Scores today -
  1. Push Ups - 30.5
  2. Jump Squats - 39
  3. 4x4s - 13
  4. Touchtoes/Knee Hug - 10
  5. Lay Down/Plank/Knee Drive - 25
  6. Jump Lunges - 46
  7. Burpees w/push ups - 11
  8. Forward Backward Touchdowns - 23
  9. Elbow Ups - 24
  10. Box Jumps - 18
Wednesday - Hike around Bells lower reservoir with Mel. 3.5 miles, 1 hour 22 minutes. 3 chin ups

Thursday - Ruins and techy with Corey. 11.34 miles, 1 hour 29 min. We made it to the top in 1:02. 5 achievements - PR for Temple Quarry to mushroom land (2.71 in 37:00) PR for 3rd bridge tot top (.82 in 13:45) Silvers for Quarry up and down with techy (6.41 miles in 1:12.08) and Up mile 3 (.99 miles in 13:33) and Bronze for DH Quarry 3.6 miles in 18:45) And for the techy section, I sent every problem! Both rock piles, the log, all the downhill parts, yay, it was fun.

Friday - Corner Canyon - 6.37 miles in 54 minutes - Canyon hollow and ghost up, over to Rush, Rush down. I got 21 achievements and Corey got 22! Such as PR for: Ghost up (9:47) Rull lower Rush DH (10:18), The Trees (5:57) and other stuff, it was a fun ride.

Saturday - Corey and I went to the Draper Temple this morning, I did the fish tail after we got home, plus exploring a few spots for family pictures this evening. 8.03 miles, 38 minutes. I tied my PR for church to wasatch (1:54) and I was surprised that I got a really great PR on the Approach Hill!! 4:16! My old best time was 4:50 on July 1! Way to go me - 34 seconds off, woo! Then shower and spent the whole day getting ready for family pictures.

Aug 21 - 26

Monday - Well, Corey's been telling me for a while that he thinks I ride my tires too low. Today I got a pinch flat when I went  down the rocks and then straight down over the pipe on the 3rd bridge (not from trail or at an angle) and I must have gotten a flat there after that, cause then it sounded and felt weird and I promptly crashed hard. I didn't shred my skin except for on my right knee, hooray for my good pants for saving me. I would have gotten SO torn up if I was in shorts or a short sleeved shirt! I will NEVER not wear long pants and long sleeve shirts biking. I got some holes in them, ripped both of my shoes, and it HURT. Mostly banged up on my right side. Corey didn't see me fall, just saw me in a pile. He hurried back to the car and I walked back up to the third bridge where I was able to get to the road, and waited for him to come get me (we had parked at the trailhead to try and get home in time to see the kids for the first day of school - but since I crashed we missed the kids leaving, Mel took a pic for me though). Ride stats: 4.43 miles, 1142 elevation gain, 59 minutes total. Silver for Techy section 4:10, and silver for Up Mile 3 at 14:35 (PR on that this past Friday with Nathan and Corey was 13:33) 3rd fastest time from temple quarry to mushroom land 37:42. Also says I got 3rd fastest time for Rocky Tech alt downhill route, but we didn't take that, so that's weird. Anyway, I am officially sad and shaken and have just been laying on my bed. My fear says to stop going down the quarry trail and just go to Corner Canyon and do Ghost Falls. Oh my right shoulder hurts bad too, like I feel like I got in a car accident. Mel put some deep blue on it and her barely rubbing it hurt pretty bad, I need a massage.

Tuesday - Feeling like a wimp this morning, just did fishtail. 5.72 miles, 24:52. I didn't stay on the road, I did the dirt trail after the approach hill (road would have made my time faster) Total fishtail time was 17:42, which was a 2nd place, PR was on 7/27/23 at 16:42. Wasatch blvd to LCC roac was 10:38, also a silver. PR 9:53 pm 7/27/23. 3rd place for the approach hill at 4:54. PR was 7/1/23 at 4:50. Today was 2:17 for red church to wasatch, which wasn't a record for anything but just a segment where I know basically where it starts and ends. Wes, Abi and I did the fit test tonight. I did ok considering my injuries, but my hand is bruised and my shoulder got hurt and my knees, so I didn't beat many of my scores last week, but I tied a few. Last weeks scores on top, today's on bottom
Wednesday - Back in the saddle again after my fall on Monday. We went to the ruins and did techy on the way back, but we just took it easy the whole time, so no achievements. 11.25 miles, 1 hour 36 minutes.

Thursday - Last night I heard Mel and Wes talking about going on a jog in the morning, and we were able to cut them off at the pass and make them go biking with us instead!
It took Mel a bit to know how to shift down to an easier pedaling pace, so she got tired quick and Corey stayed behind with her, Corey wanted Wes to stay challenged and interested, so I went ahead with him and we made it to the third bridge. We passed Mel and Corey on our way down. I let Mel use my bike and Corey let Wes use his. Wes thought the ride down was really fun, yay! And he did pretty good on the ride up too (keeping up with his mom!) We all started at the parking lot, but Wes and I rode home (to relieve our babysitter Owen) and Corey and Mel drove the car back. 6.73 miles, no achievements, that's ok, 52 minutes.

Friday - Corey and I drove to Snowbird this morning and did some of Big Mountain. 6 miles in 65 minutes. We just went to the red rocks technical part and that's where we turned around. The ride down was fun but over so fast after all that work getting up there! 5 achievements, one silver and 4 bronze.

Saturday - busy morning with cleaning the church and soccer games. I didn't think I'd be able to get out on a ride, so I did 20 handstands and was able to do 3 chin ups in a row. Then later, Corey and I did made it to corner canyon for a ride - 7.2 miles in 59 minutes. We did canyon hollow to Brocks then Rush down, did rush the end twice. 18 achievements, yay, got PRs or 2nd best on everything during the climb. 2nd and 3rd places on a few things on the downhill, but mostly I was just going nice and easy and enjoying myself on the descent. It was perfectly overcast and not busy, it was perfect!

Aug 14 - 19

Monday - Ruins and Techy with Corey this morning.11.35 miles, 1:35:44 4 achievements: PR for 1st bridge to top - 2.23 miles in 37:25. Up Mile 3 was 2nd fastest time at 15:04. 2nd fastest time on Techy section too at 4:17, aaand I got a PR for the fastest section alive! 4:01! After we got home, Wes and I did the Fit Test together. The plus after is how many I increased from last week.

Push ups - 31 push ups on toes (+2 = 2 more than last week!) W - 25
Jump Squats - 40 (+4) W - 31
4x4s 14 (=) W - 18
Toe touch then knee hugs (laying on back) 12 (+2) W - 12
Knee drive 24 (+4) W - 25
Jump Lunges 44 (+8!) W - 40
Burpees w/push up 10 (+1) W - 10
Forward touchdown backward touchdown - 22 (+5) W - 12
Elbow ups - 19 (+5) W - 8 (Wes prob had better form than I did)
Box jumps - 16 (+3) W - 16

Tuesday - Bike ride up canyon with Corey and Joseph. My Fezzari's back tire had a flat. I pumped it up and it seemed fine, but Corey said he wouldn't risk riding it up or I might get stuck, so I rode my silver bike. It is a hardtail. I can't believe that I rode that all year last year! It was fine going up, but it is no fun coming down. I also missed my dropper post. I was still able to do the big pipe after the 3rd bridge, but wasn't able to do a lot of the other techy parts - the tread on the tires is really worn out. I do like that it's a triple speed - I cranked it all the way to 3:8 and got a PR on the ride from the church to Wasatch at 1:54. Corey and I usually take the whole road up pretty slow, and so that part usually takes us over 3 minutes at a regular speed.

Wednesday - Tire on my bike was still inflated so rode that today, yay, did ruins and Techy with Corey, 11.21 miles, 8 achievements. PR on Pow plant down (2:09). 2nd fastest for: Up mile 3 (14:45) DH Quarry (18:32), 3rd for fastest section alive (4:17) and 3rd bridge to top (15:20)

Thursday - Walked to Bells then hiked around the reservoir. I saw two coyotes! 4.69 miles, 1 hour 33 min

Friday - Met up with Corey's friend Nathan early at the trailhead (we were supposed to be there at 6:15, we were a little late) We drove to the trailhead, so rode from the quarry trailhead to the ruins and back with techy. 6.74 miles, 1:09:31. 8 achievements - I got 3rd place for quarry up and and back with techy 1:15. Also 3rd for Up mile 2 (15:00) and coalpit area (1:55 - still don't know where this section is) I got one silver medal for the temple quarry to mushroomland (37:30) and now for my 4 PRs today: 1st bridge to top 2.23 miles in 35:46, Up mile 3 13:33, 3rd bridge to top 14:45, and LC Descenet lower half 6:43. Fastest section alive was 4:20.

Saturday - I had Wes drop me off up the canyon a bit further near Tanner campground, which was destroyed by avalanches over the winter - I didn't know where the trail was but I heard there was a trail... I struggled through avalanche debris for a bit before I found it.

This pic is where I was still struggling. I sent it to Corey to shore him that o didn’t know what I was doing, and that I would text him if I needed to be reached. I eventually made it through to the ruins. None of the Trail was that great, would be a nice hike but I have no desire to bike it again. True, it could have just been the combination of a new trail with the rain that discouraged me, I still am fine to never do it again and to stick with well used trails. 7.06 miles, 1 hour 4 min, PR for pow plant down 2:06, PR for LC descent lower half 6:35, 2nd place for fastest section alive 4:10 and 2nd for coalpit area 1:53

Aug 7 - 12

Monday - Didn't make it out this morning. I was waiting on Corey, as in I've been on Florence Nightingale duty. He's been sick since Saturday morning, when we missed that last opportunity to go on a ride at Park City as well. Tonight he took at at home COVID test, and it was positive.

Tuesday - I knew it was just me, so I left this morning, yay, did the Quarry trail to ruins and back. 11.6 miles, 1 hour 40 min, I did ALL the sections after Lisa falls! It's the first time I've gotten up that first section of rocks this year, and also the first time I made it over the pipe at the end ever. PR from the 2nd bridge to the top 23:49, 2nd fastest time for 3rd bridge to top 15:16. PR on Pow plant down - 2:10. I can barely do one pull up, blah. I hope to start climbing again next week when school starts again.

Wednesday - Did an at home workout this morning, in the basement! I haven't worked out down there for forever. Did 5 min of toy soldier and stretching, then did Melissa Ioja fit test. I can't do up knee hugs but I tried, aka layed on my back as I did them. My scores Today/2023 in bold after my scores from summer 2018 5 years ago
Push ups - 18 toes, 10 knees - 29 all on toes!
Jump Squats - 38 - 36
4x4s (four high knees and four alt inside toe touches = 1) - 12 - 14
Feet up then knee hugs (these were awkward for me) - 5 - 10
lay down and knee drive - 18 - 20
Jump Lunges - 34 - 36
Burpees w/o push up - 11 - 9 with pushup (hate those!)
Forward touchdown backward touchdown - 14 - 17
Elbow ups - 19 - 14 (these were awkward)
Box jumps - 10 - 13 (up to the second step on the stairs

Thursday - Corey felt well enough this morning to go on a ride, yay, so we did to the ruins and techy section, our usual. 11.24 miles, we took it easy, 1 hour 42 min, to achievements today other than getting out the door. Good enough for me. Also, my legs are solidly sore from yesterday! That surprised me, but I guess it goes to show that different exercises use different muscles, even if they are both leg (biking vs. jump lunges and squats)

Friday - morning walk, 2.8 miles, 44 minutes. Did a headstand at Sunrise point. :) Although I'm still stiff and sore from the fit test. I need to do better at stretching.
Saturday - It rained last night, so we didn't go to corner canyon (mud is a little more sticky there) and did a late morning ride up the Quarry Trail (left at 8:30) - 11.26 miles, 1 hour 39 min, no achievements

Monday, July 31, 2023

Jul 31 - Aug 5

Monday - First day of riding at Park City! Corey and I left early at 6:30, did Armstrong up to MidMountain, took that east to Jenni's, then Loose Moose down and CMG to Base area. 13.08 miles, 2 hours 10 minutes. PRs on: Lower armstrong 13:13, Dawns to HAM 21:46, and 8 other emoji medals

Tuesday - Ride with Corey, Armstrong to HAM then Spiro down, Lower Armstrong time today 13:28 (2nd place) PR Dawns to HAM 19:30 - I got an achievement on 12 segments out of 13 total! Only one I didn't get was the Silverspur to Armstrong, but we are just catching our breath there, since you have to bike straight up the hill to get there. Stretching with Jordyn was fun.

Wednesday - Ride with Joseph and Corey - we all went up Jenni's 12.26 miles, 1 hour 54 minutes, 2075 elevation.
Joseph headed back at Loose Moose, Corey and I kept going up and we made it all the way to the Montage! It was so pretty and smelled so nice! I wanted to take the mountain back down, but Corey had to get to work (we started late) so we took the road down. 20 segments, 7 achievements, of which I got a few PRs compared to my time climbing Jenni's last year (like Jenni's to Loose Moose 2.68 miles in 32.46 (36 min twice last year)). Jordyn and I did more stretching today

Thursday - raining this morning, so we didn't make it out. Kids went to float the Provo River with Corey, I stayed at the hotel with Katharine, we took a walk to the park to release our last butterfly.

Friday - K has a fever but Corey let me go on a ride anyway, I went to HAM, 1 hour 22 min, 7.33 miles, 13 segments, 8 achievements - 2nd and 3rd places, it was muddy. Went to Jordamelle and I tried doing headstands on the paddleboards at Jordanelle! Ha, it was fun, Then Corey and I went on an evening ride - it was less muddy, 7.39 miles, 1 hour 12 min, PRs for Lower Armstrong 12:34 (almost a min faster than monday!) and Dawns to HAM 18:48

Saturday - Corey is sick and so is Katharine, so we didn't go on a ride today and we are back home now. I'm sad that we didn't do Scotty's Bypass and that we didn't take MidMountain down. I think I could go biking all day and not get tired of it. I'm wondering what is the purpose of life. I guess I am  sometimes a little satisfied after a ride, but if I could go longer I would. If I didn't have anything to come back to, I'd be out there all day. It's good I have a family to care for or I'd just recreate all day and probably lose my salvation.

Jul 24 - 29

Monday - Ride with Corey up to the ruins. 11.23, 1 hour 36 min, DH Quarry PR - 20:29, 2nd fastest time for Quarry up and down with techy 1:19:17. Corey's bike is still in the shop, so he hasn't been having much fun - Joseph's bike is too clanky. Corey joked that he's reached a certain level in his biking, in that he can tell the difference!

Tuesday - Ride with Corey up to the ruins. 11.26, 1 hour 31 min, Quarry up and down with Techy PR -  1:11:43. 2nd DH Quarry 2nd best time at 21:22. 3rd place for 1st bridge to top: 38:19 and 2nd bridge to top 24:30. Corey's hoping his bike is done today.

Wednesday - Morning hike with Relief Society sisters - Started at Bloods Trailhead, went to Jupiter peak and back, 3.85 miles, 1 hour 30 min. Did a headstand on the peak

Thursday - Fish tail with my silver bike, all road (didn't take the dirt trail double track after the approach hill), 24 min 22 sec, 2nd best PR for approach hill 4:54 (PR was 7/1/23 4:50) and 2nd best for church to Wasatch 2:02 (PR 5/25/23 1:58)

Friday - Ruins and Techy with Corey, 1 hour 34 min, 11.25 miles

Saturday - Corner Canyon by myself, Rush 2x, then Gasline Trail to Ghost Falls up, Ghost Falls down, connect to Rush, then did Rush the end, then did Rush the end 2 more times. Strava says I got 15 achievements yay. Started doing some of "The Core Play" program today

Monday, July 17, 2023

Jul 17 - 22

Monday - We stayed up too late last night (almost until midnight) so that resulted in a late morning. I left for a walk at 8:45, it was already very warm. 2.83 miles, 52 minutes. 10 pull ups throughout the day (I can only do 2 in a row :( I need to go climbing to get my strength back) 2 min hollow, 2 min superman

Tuesday - Ride with Corey to ruins plus techy on the way back. His bike is in the shop, so he rode Joseph's bike. It's tires tread is a little low. 11.20 miles, 1 hour 37 min. 3PRs, one for 3rd bridge to top, 15:14. 7pm - I just finished over an hour of stretching my legs! Thank you to my kids for this miracle of time - to Wes for taking NODP to the movie, and Mel for watching K

Wednesday - Ruins with Corey, 11.33 miles, 1 hour 37 min, PR on downhill quarry 21.44

Thursday - Ride with Trevor and Xela from Tony Grove to White Pine Lake, then Bunchgrass on the way down. 14.07 miles, 2 hours 27 minutes. Headstand at White Pine Lake, haha

On the way down, I fell (twice!) The first fall was a doozy on gravel, and the metal of my pedal totally gouged my shin. I had to take off my shoelace and tie it around my shin to try and keep pressure on it as we headed down the mountain for another hour.

Friday - Went to the Reserve gym with Trice, she was on the treadmill, I did 30 minutes of stretching. The yoga mat was super dingy and gross, like a sticky movie theater floor

Jul 10 - 15

Monday - Ride on the Big Mountain Trail at Snowbird!

11 miles according to Corey's strava (mine said 10.6, so I don't know what's going on with that...) 2171 elevation gained, 2 hours 10 min, hit a max elevation of 10069.

It was beautiful, a lot of work, and fun!

Hit snow a few times and had to walk

This wood walkway was a bit intimidating!

It was about 10 feet high over rocks and at the edge of a cliff

Tuesday - Riding and exploring Albion Basin today.
9.23 miles, 1713 ft elevation gain. 1 hour 48 min. Corey and I didn't even know that there was a campground up there) I followed Corey walking across a very icy patch of winter that was still on the trial. It was a bit scary! Glad we didn't die

Wednesday - Big Mountain Trail with Joseph. He hasn't been training for Olympics like Corey and me, so he went about 30 min and then called it good.
I went up to 10300 feet/3140 meters, almost to the top, the snow fields stopped me. 3.5 hour ride (even though Strava said 2 hours 40 min! Do we trust the mileage?...) Strava said 12.25, 2494 elevation gain. 14 achievements
So gorgeous! This below was where Corey and I made it to yesterday. It's fun being on top of the world!
Thursday - Hike by myself from 6-7 am, cause Corey was going to take the kids on a ride, because I was going to have them the rest of the day (had to go down for trumpet lesson) but when I got back at 7 C was still in bed, not feeling well, so instead of a morning ride, I took them on a hike again to Blackjack Waterfall, which I had just discovered.
It was steeper than I thought (I skipped the waterfall trail) but the kids did good, only 3 injuries (D fell and had a scratch, L got something stinging on her feet and O scuffed his knee too when we were almost back at the car).

Friday - Big Mountain with Corey. We made it to the top of Gadzoom, then turned around to come back, and then Corey's bike was ghost pedaling and he had to sit down and pedal the whole ride down! Wasn't able to coast or stand on his bike. That would totally throw me off. I had a fun ride back down though. Too bad for him to do all that work to get to the top and then not be able to enjoy the fun ride down. There was one steep hill that he tried to climb at the end near Little Cloud, he's worried that might be where he broke something, so we'll see.

Saturday - Checked out at Snowbird this morning. At 6pm I went to Draper temple for a session, then I went on a ride from 8:20-9:20. 6.2 miles in 59 minutes. I did Rush, then up and down Ghost Falls, then Rush down, and Rush The End 3x, it was so fun. got a PR on one of my rides down Rush the end, 1:34! My favorite part was on one of my 4 times doing Rush The End, listening to the chorus of Brand New by Ben Rector, "like I can fly!!!" and I was coming up to the big hill part "and I don't even think of touching the ground...." and the song kept going as I was doing the fun hills then "it's the way that I feel when I'm with you... (up to the top of the hill and...) BRAND NEW!" it was really fun and just perfect and I felt like a kid and was smiling and there was hardly any one else there! I came across 6 hikers, but no bikers. It was perfect and I loved it and sorry Corey for going without you (his bike is in the repair shop after Big Mountain yesterday). I timed a lap on Lower Rush before and it was 7-8 minutes, but according to Strava, I did two laps yesterday in 10:41, not bad!! :)
