Saturday - Home > ruins > techy > home, 11.50 miles, 1:48 min. Rode my Silver bike, my fezzari is in the shop from last Saturday's ride, at Salt Cycles waiting for a part to come in. Listening to Diary of a CEO episode with Mindy Pelz, planning to fast today, and I put her book "Fast like a girl" on hold at the library. Finished that DOAC episode, then ordered her book, I'm going to want it. Took lots of notes. Also listened to this one when I ran to Costco. I got hemp seeds, and I did do a water fast (plus apple cider vinegar) today, then ate a big salad with spring mix, saurkraut, avocado, hemp seeds, pumpkin seeds, califlower, and beets. Began a new fast after that. Also... I should have started my cycle this past Monday. I'm going to take a Ptest in the morning.

Sunday - I didn't set an alarm, but I woke up on my own (God woke me up), and I laid there for a min, then looked at the clock to see what time it was, and guess what it said? 4:28!!! I saw it and smiled and thought "Yay, God loves me! He's going to give it to me! (another baby)" as I got up. But then I thought "Well, maybe he's telling me he loves me even though he's not giving me what I want..." I went in and took the test, and it is positive! Due Jan 12, so I'll plan to be induced at 39 weeks, Jan 5th. God willing that everything goes well and I don't miscarry or have any other "advanced maternal age" problems until then (I just turned 49 and will be 49 when I deliver). I don't think anyone reads this blog, so if you do happen to see this, feel free to enter a comment. Corey doesn't want to tell people yet, but I might have a hard time keeping it in.

Saturday - Out to Corner Canyon! Ann's and Rush, did the end 2x. They made big jumps on the end of Rush now, which I had to slow down to go over since I don't know how to go jumps. 7.58 miles, 1 hour 8 min. When I was on my way home, I saw that Corey had just left for a ride, so I went to say hi, but he totally took a trail that went right past where I was waiting, so then I decided to try and catch him to say hi, then I rode with him ("I'll just go to the 1st bridge. ... ok I'll do avalanche hill. ...I'll go until 3rd bridge, ok I'll go until Techy"), from the trailhead to Techy, 6.18 miles, ALSO 1 hour 8 min, haha. I did a double header.

Apr 21 - 26

Monday - Bouldering with Lily this morning (we got her a two week pass).

I did 24 total: 17 sends, 7 attempts. Then a ride to the ruins with Corey around 4:30. I got a flat on the descent. I rode it slowly on the road, then walked from the church. I got the first rock pile on Techy, and almost got the second.

Tuesday - parked at Lisa Falls, did a hike up the little Cottonwood Trail, 2.16 miles, 55 minutes. A view of the ruins from up higher on the trail.

Wednesday - bouldering at 8 PM, did 30, 24 sends, 6 attempts

Thursday - Lily wanted to go to Momentum, I couldn’t do anything because I went last night, so I just walked on the treadmill for 1.5 miles, 27 minutes, two week attempts at V2s, my hands were worthless

Friday - Ride to Sunridge Peak, located at the north end of the Jordanelle Reservoir in Park City, Utah. I really liked it!
Back at Hideout, my sisters tried to be a pic of me on the mountain.
I'm in this pic somewhere, but I'm just a speck.
So I road from our AirBnB to Deer Flow Trail, then took Milky way up and Big Dipper down. 11.07 miles, 1 hour 54 minutes, 1495 elevation.

Saturday - Ride on some new trails (for me) in Park City. Was going to go with Corey, but as we started he noticed his shocks were leaking fluid, so then he went back to the room. I left and did Free mason, Lost Prospector, Fox Tail, and Lynx. It felt a lot like Ann's in corner canyon, I really liked it!

Apr 14 - 19

Monday - Home > Ruins > Techy > Home

11.25 miles, 1 hour 55 min. Still snow in a few spots, but that's ok cause I don't mind walking it now and then.

Tuesday - Bouldering at Sandy Momentum at 6, after the temple at 5 am. 38 minutes:
  • 1 V5 attempt
  • 2 V3 sends
  • 2 V3 attempts
  • 3 V2 sends
  • 3 V2 attempt
  • 7 V1 sends
  • 4 V0 sends
Then I went on a bike ride again too! Home > Ruins > Techy > Home. 11.30 miles. 1 hour 51 minutes. I mostly wanted to check the status of snow on the trail. 1 hour 51 min. I was able to ride some of it on the decent at the top, and most all of it down. I even got across the water above the 3rd bridge, and the techy connector at the 3rd bridge, and the 3rd bridge pipe!

Wednesday - Hike up Bells. Did a bit too much exploring in uncharted territory and was praying not to run into any wild animals (mountain lions). I was glad when I found a trail.
I followed it and thought it would connect to the Bells trail, but nope... just kept going up and up. I wanted to turn around but didn't want to go the way I came. Came across two wind chimes and a christmas tree...
and then found a whole hut...
I still couldn't find a trail across the creek, so I eventually just took a chance. Huffed it over tree logs, through bushes, and over snow.
Was glad when I saw a hiker going down, I knew I was close... Glad to finally get on Bells.
Then I went to the top of a moraine, and was late getting home, the girls were late for YW, my bad. I was glad my phone didn't die. I got to 3%!

Thursday - Bouldering at Ft Union this morning. 16 sends, 8 attempts, 24 total:

Apr 7 - 12

Monday - walk to Crystal Cove this morning at 6:10. 2.52 miles, and again this evening to watch the sunset, 2.35 miles. (Walked there yesterday too, 2.94 miles.)

Tuesday - Walking around Six Flags amusement park all day.

Wednesday - 6:13 am walk to beach. 3.9 miles, 1 hour 28 min.

Thursday - Woke up at 4:45, knew the moon would be setting at 5:15 am, so hurried and got ready. Started 4:55 and ran down to the beach to see it. Had a good view from higher up...
But it was hidden by the marine layer. Still enjoyed walking around the beach in the dark and seeing the sky light up all morning.
6.03 miles, 2 hours 9 minutes. I got a "congratulations" for my longest walk on Strava
I think tomorrow I might try to see the moon set again tomorrow.... Tomorrow moonset 5:41 am, sunrise 6:25. I'm also excited to try and see the full moon Saturday morning in Nevada on our way home! I lived in Arizona years ago and the full moon in the desert there was amazing <3

Friday - Got breakfast ready for everyone, then I left for a last morning walk to the beach at 8:30 while they ate and packed. Check out at 11. Found out this morning there is a short cut behind our building. I told Corey I'd be quick, but with the shortcut I felt like I earned more time at the beach. 2.52 miles, 55 minutes. Drove to Vegas

Saturday - Drive home. Unpacked, then (with sunset not until 8) Corey and I took a ride to the ruins at 5:30. Trail up to the ruins, then took the road back from Lisa's. 11 miles, 1 hour 44 min. Then I went bouldering at 9pm. 26 total, 20 sends, 6 attempts. They don't have Kaya so I have to keep track of the climbs myself. I'm starting to use shorthand. (021 = V0 V1 V2) I sent a new Orange V3 on the lit up wall. Glad I did good for not coming since last Friday.

Mar 31 - Apr 5

Monday - Millcreek bouldering after dropping off Abi and Lily at school. 50 minutes, 26 total: 17 sends and 9 attempts, 5 of the attempts were the hanging purple V2 in the OG sector. To get that one I'll need to get my palms a little tougher and probably able to bend my arms more to pull myself - the last hold on it is a far reach that I can't get by swinging myself.

Tuesday - Ft Union bouldering with my sister Beka.

Wednesday - K is hanging out with Ethan and Bella today. 20 handstands, splits stretching while I blogged in my room.

Thursday - More sitting today, but I finished blogging July 2024! Yay. Did two 64 second handstands. It's 10 pm now. Let me try one more time and see if I can beat it... 82 seconds! That barely beat my PR of 81! I'm not sure if that is my #1 PR or just one of my PR times, but that's the longest that I can remember holding a handstand before so I think it is.

Friday - bouldering at 1pm before spending the evening driving. 50 minutes, did 28: 18 sends, 10 attempts. 2 V4 attempts were a white V4 in the OG that looks doable, just long and overhanging. I got 1/3 the way up.

Saturday - drive to Newport CA

Monday, March 24, 2025

Mar 24 - 29

Monday - bouldering this am at Ft Union.

  • 5 V0s
  • 12 V1s
  • 3V1 Attempts
  • 5 V2s
  • 5 V2 attempts
  • 6 V3 attempts
  • 5 V4 attempts
I did NOT get the Red V2 in the cave. And actually when I saw it today I forgot it was a V2, not a V3. It's hard! My hands get so tired! Didn't get it today but I'll try again! It's hanging a lot, you're basically holding on upside down.

Then 3pm bike ride up the canyon. First goal was just the ruins, but I also knew I had time that I could try to keep going all the way to Snowbird, and I did.

Then I went a little more to Alta.
I got my longest ride, biggest climb, biggest elevation gain (3696) and a few other achievements.

22.37 miles. Took me 2 hours 43 minutes to get to Alta.

Tuesday - Exploring Bell Canyon hike, 5.13 miles, 2 hours 15 min. Plus 210 walking lunges on the way home. It was so fun and pretty and a few spots had lovely pine smell, plus I love listening to the creek too. I love the mountains. I love where we live!

Wednesday - 6am bouldering at Ft. Union, 45 minutes, I finally got the red V2! I got it twice, woo. Also took three tries but I got the pink V2 too. This is the pink V2. It's really at an angle, and the holds aren't great, so it's pushing you out but it's hard to hold on and the foot holds are tiny too.
  • Warm up Purple V0
  • green V1
  • Warm up again
  • Easier red V2
  • Diff Purple V0
  • tricky Blue V1
  • Pink V2 (almost got it!)
  • Light wall V0
  • Purple v1 cave wall
  • Pink V2 attempt
  • Red V2 got it!!! pic above on Monday
  • Purple V1 west wall

  • West wall Purple V0
  • West wall pink V1
  • Center west pink V2 attempt *pic below
  • Center north Green V2 got it
  • Center west Red V1
  • Cave red V2 got it again!!!
  • Cave pink V2 GOT IT!
This is the V0 warm up boulder
This was the easier Red V2, I was able to get this first try a few weeks ago.

V0 purple on right, Pink V1 next to it, Purple V2 on the left that I dont think I got.

this pink V2 below is impossible (some of it looks red)
Green V2 that is hard but I was able to get today, I've gotten it a few times but it's a hard one
Blue V1 that is tricky, cause you have to throw yourself around the corner to the left to grab the blue that you can't see around the corner.

Thursday - left for a ride at 5pm, went from home to Hidden Valley, along BST, climb to Ghost Falls, then took Ghost falls down, lower rush, limelight, back up to BST, BST north back to Hidden Valley. 16.59 miles, 2 hours 37 minutes, 1888 elevation gain, 23 achievements, yay

Friday - date night top rope at Ft Union:
