May 27 - Jun 2

Monday - Rode up a new trail, Mother Urban. 1439 elevation gain, 7.82 miles, 1 hour 39 minutes. Had to climb over a few trees, but it was good! I liked the trail. 12 reps of lat pull 100 lbs

Tuesday - Ride up Armstrong, HAM, and Seldom Seen - 7.77 miles, 1284 elevation gain, 1 hour 25 minutes. So this was a usual ride we did last year, only today instead of coming down Spiro, we took Seldom Seen, a new trail for us - it was SO FUN! It was as good as Rush - lots of rolls and turns, I just need to learn how to do jumps then I'll be cooking on that. Loved it. Excited to do it in July with Joseph and people. Corey lost his airpod case though, so that was sad. Maybe I'll go ride up to try and find it later this week. 20 min splits stretching, also I was able to do this back roll to a head stand a few times, kinda weird, hoping to help those muscles figure out what they are supposed to do.

Wednesday - Corey's feeling sick so didn't go climb this morning. Did some back bend stretching after I saw this guy on facebook. Went did 21:
  • 1 V3 attempt - New Pink on short end of south boulder, sent it last week but didn't get it today
  • 2 V3 sends - Red and White in OG
  • 1 V2 attempt - stupid Green one on north boulder
  • 7 V2 sends
  • 5 V1s
  • 5 V0s
Thursday - Ride up LCC, I got up the rocks, did the first rock pile on techy, and my greatest feeling of accomplishment today came from doing the two last obstacles before the ruins - the rock step and the last pipe, I don't think I've ever done either of them but today I did BOTH! And Techy is so fun

Friday - Happy Birthday Katharine! Bouldering at 8pm with Hyrum. I was able to do the pink and show off in front of my college kid, haha
I did 26:
  • 1 V4 attempt - Red on South Boulder
  • 5 V3 attempts - Lost my footing once on Red, Pink South Boulder, new Blue on south Boulder, Two yellow in OG sector, I got further than I've gotten before!
  • 5 V3 sends - Red and White Pink North Boulder, Pink South Boulder, Blue on south Boulder, I kinda did it in two parts but I'm counting it! (Hyrum above on North Boulder Pink)
  • 10 V2 attempt - I got the stupid Green one on the north boulder! Pic of Hyrum doing it below. He tried it, I told him how I thought we might be able to do it, it is really tricky cause all the holds are sideways but there is nothing to put your feet on below! But after H's attempt I tried it and I got it!!
  • 5 V1s

Saturday - Morning ride at 8:30 with Corey. Started at Coyote Trailhead and we did Clarks and Rush. Ugh, Clarks is hard and I was breathing heavy the whole time. Got a PR going up though! tiotal time 46 minutes, 5.14 miles. Clarks plus Rush through the trees PR - 4.67 miles in 41:06. Did pretty good on Rush down. 28 segments, 17 achievements, 8 PRs/golds, 5 silvers, 4 bronze.

Sunday - Grant is in town, did two headstands at park with Hibbert's

May 20 - 26

Monday - rainy morning so no ride... might go climb later... at violin right now and I still need to stretch...

Tuesday - Yesterday was an off day. Feeling back to normal today. Corey and I went climbing after carpool - did 4 top rope and then we were both spent - Corey headed out and I did a little bit of bouldering. Climbs we did:
  • CT - new purple 5.10b.c? Hoping it's a c, it was hard
  • C - purple 5.9
  • T - red 5.10b/c (woo! also hoping this one is a c), purple 5.9
  • C - red 5.10b/c
  • TC green 5.10c - have done this before but couldn't finish it, moved over to a purple 5.6 right next to it to finish.
Boulders - did 20:
  • 2 V3 attempts - New Yellow on south boulder - Red on south boulder cave
  • 5 V3 sends - Pink on north boulder tall slab, Black, Red in OG, New Pink 2x on short end of south boulder
  • 1 V2 attempt - The really hard Orange route in the OG, I will need to try this first when I have strength.
  • 4 V2 sends - black in OG, 3 new ones on south boulder - red, orange, green
  • 4 V1s
  • 4 V0s
Wednesday - Ride with Corey to ruins, techy on the way back, And Techgnar AND Carpool lane (Alpenloop). I didn't really want to do those last two, but I guess Corey doesn't really want to climb but comes anyway, so this was my turn to go along anyway.

Thursday - climb with Corey at 5 pm, but he wasn't feeling it, did 3 climbs then took him back to his dads:
  • CT - lavendar 5.10b woo
  • C - Green 5.11, oops, he didn't get far
  • TC same purple 5.10b/c from Tues, it was hard but it's prob a b
  • TC green 5.10c - I had to take two breaks but I got to the top
  • T - yellow 5.10a
Also I saw that the purple I couldn't do on Fri May 3 was finally graded - it's a 5.10d. After taking Corey back to his dad's I went back for a little bouldering, did 19:
  • 1 V4 attempt - green in the OG on the 10/60 boulder
  • 2 V3 attempts - Green in OG, Orange on North boulder
  • 1 V3 sends - Red in OG
  • 7 V2s
  • 8 V1s
Friday - Stayed up too late last night talking to J about wedding stuff, didn't get out early for a ride, but had to take carpool at 7 anyway (Mel ended up taking it but the opportunity already slipped away), but yay it was the last time, today was their last day of school. Up at Park City at 6pm. Wanted to go bike Round Top but it's raining. Supposed to rain tomorrow too.

Saturday - Morning ride with Corey, exploring new trails in Park City and Deer Valley. 1 hour 37 minutes, 9.52 miles. HAB up Hang Time, Lost Prospector, Mellow Mountain, Gamble Oak, Solamere, street back to Marriott. BFL lat pull tonight, 12x70, 10x85, 8x100, 6x115, 12x100, woo!

Sunday - 45 minutes of stretching, slowly but surely I'm getting closer to the splits

May 13 - 18

Monday - Ride up LCC with Corey this morning. Left at 6:30, we saved two puppies that were in the road playing (had licenses, called their owner) I didn't want to go this morning, so I was slow just pedaling one round then another. 11.39 miles, 1 hour 40 min. On the climb after the 3rd bridge Corey took this pic. Not loving how I look in this, but that's what I often think of photos of myself.

On the Lisa Falls hill, a branch caught the hole in my helmet and made me have to stop, but I had just gotten up the first hard part and I was feeling like I was going to do it, so that's too bad. Had fun on the way down, I hit ALL of techy today! Yes, that was cool. I think it was a PR but I didn't stop in the right place for Strava to pick it up, next time I'll go down a bit more before I stop (waiting for Corey) He hasn't ever had music on, he always does podcasts, but today he listened to Don't Sweat the Technique. After he said "Well that was a LOT more fun! I was way more reckless!" haha. We're gonna get him Spotify or itunes.

30 push ups on toes in 46 seconds, then 30 on knees in 55 seconds, 1 min 24 second hang (with two chin ups)

Tuesday - Wonderful Flow this morning, and frog stretch. Then top rope with Corey after carpool. Started off with two 5.10c's, woo! I belayed Corey first. I did two in a row twice, it was hard. I didn't cheat or take a break or fall on any of them today.
  • CT red 5.10c
  • C black 5.10c
  • T black 5.10c, lavender 5.9
  • C lavender 5.9
  • TC black 5.10d attempt (made it half way, then over to a 5.9 orange for the rest of the way up
  • TC yellow 5.10a
  • T lavender  5.10b, black 5.7
  • C lavender  5.10b, black 5.7
  • TC purple 5.10a (hard to start!)
Wednesday - Took a ride in Corner Canyon after doing initiatories at the Draper temple. I did Clarks - it's been a while since I did Clarks (It's been closed after the houses fell over the edge). It was brutal. Looks like in Aug 2021 I was proud when I didn't have to stop on the hill at all, and I didn't stop today, so good job me. Then rush down, did rush the end another time - 5.83 miles, 56 min. Then I went and did a dozen+ laps on the beginner and intermediate jump line. Got some air a few times, only lost my footing once but I didn't fall, yay. 2.37 miles in 19 minutes

Thursday - Woke up on my own at 5:15 and stretched for 45 minutes as I read my scriptures. Then bouldering this morning by myself after taking skyline carpool - did 20:
  • 1 V4s - white one on south boulder
  • 7 V3 sends - South Boulder: 3x Black, OG: 2x Red, White, North Boulder: Pink
  • 10 V2 sends - One was a really hard Orange route in the OG, that was a tough one!
  • 1 V1
  • 1 V0 - new one, I just had to do it so I could check them all off
Then at 6 I drove up the canyon and did 3 loops on techy. Didn't make it up the hill or hit everything but it was good practice. 2.3 miles, 30 minutes. I did get one 3rd place Bronze time 8:40 for the loop.

Friday - Ride to Ruins with Corey, started at trailhead cause we didn't leave until 7 (C slept in and I had to get back for Natalie's patriotic program at school. But I don't mind time to myself in the morning - I got in 20 minutes of stretching while I read my scriptures and waited for him.) 7.09 miles, 1 hour 14 min. Today I got up the hill after the 3rd bridge, yay. Haven't gotten that one yet this season

Saturday - Solo bouldering tonight, I tried to do a V1, V2, V3, then V4 in that order, then repeat, but the only V4 I can do is the white one, but I did attempt a few others, but sometimes I skipped the V4. Did  a total of 25:
  • 1 V4 attempt - blue in OG Sector
  • 3 V4 sends - white one on south boulder
  • 2 V3 attempts - Both in OG - new Red and green ones
  • 5 V3 sends - Lavendar, Black, Red, White, Pink
  • 2 V2 attempt - Orange one, really hard! I tried it at the end so I was spent and couldn't do it, plus a stupid impossible green one on the north boulder
  • 6 V2 sends - One was a really hard Orange route in the OG, that was a tough one!
  • 6 V1 sends

May 6 - 11

Monday - It snowed yesterday and it's not going to warm up at all until Friday (67°) and Saturday (71°) so we might be out of biking for a few days, boo. Corey and I went climbing this morning tho, Did top rope most of the time, then I did two quick boulders - I went first today, did two back to back, they were easy but I was spent after doing two in a row! Then Corey did two too -

  • T Red 5.8, purple 5.9
  • C Red 5.8, purple 5.9
  • T green 5.10c, had to hold onto purple at the top, hard! Corey rested twice then he was done, got half way
  • TC yellow 5.10a
  • TC green 5.10a
  • Black V3
  • White V4
Also practiced L sit a little bit, stretched for an hour, and did a 6 min core exercise from fb video (can't find it now), 45 sec on 15 sec off of: reverse plank hold, knees up in reverse plank hold, switch legs, L march, elbow plank hold, pike to plank on elbows

Tuesday - Bouldering at 2:00 by myself, did 30:
  • 2 V4s - white one on south boulder
  • 4 V3 sends - 2 Black on South Boulder, Red, new White one on North Boulder
  • 2 V3 attempts - Black and Orange by each other on East side of North Boulder
  • 10 V2 sends
  • 6 V1s
  • 6 V0s
1 hour stretching while I read, 10 handstands

Wednesday - 30 min stretching, bike ride with Corey and Katharine but we only made it through the warm up (road to trailhead) before she fell asleep, so then we did our cooldown (trailhead to home) and Corey said he was done, I drove to the trailhead and rode up past avalanche hill, after that there was too much snow from the storm Sunday and Monday. So two rides: CTK 4.04 miles in 26 minutes, then by myself 3.49 miles, 34 minutes. Did some headstands tonight, plus this quick calisthenics beginner workout. I'm going to learn how to do an L-sit!

Thursday - Quick climbing session with Corey after we took Skyline carpool -
  • C Red 5.8, purple 5.9
  • T Red 5.8, purple 5.9
  • CT 5.10a black
  • CT 5.10b red, then it was 8:00 so we had to be done, but I hurried and did a few boulder problems to try and top it off
  • black V3
  • white V4
  • red V3
15 min stretching, headstand and handstands, 20 push ups on toes. I just looked up the Fit Test I did last Aug, I got 30 then, doh, gotta work harder! Tried again and got 16. 45 second handstand.

Friday - 2:30 pm ride up LCC, made it to 3rd bridge before the snow stopped me. Had to climb over two trees! Also did dirty sprint before coming back home.

11.54 miles, 1 hour 25 minutes. Talked with Nicole during the bike climb and during 30 min of stretching this morning. My front splits on both sides are now the distance of yoga block from the ground (from the thinnest part of the yoga block). Stretching hurts. I've been doing it for over two months now! Making some progress. Also this morning (well, around noon) did this Cirque du Soleil ab workout - got 4 min in and then Katharine rescued me by having me change her poopy diaper, then finished last 90 seconds, woo! I have room to improve on my form. 4:40pm did 28 pushups before my knee tapped out.

Saturday - stretching, handstand and headstand. Bike ride with Corey and Rob at 4:!5pm, 7.49 miles in 1 hour 6 minutes. Started at Bike Park, climb up Canyon Hollow and Brocks to the Peakview parking lot, then Rush down and Limelight. 36 achievements! I was pushing hard on Brocks so I was glad to see a PR for that - .38 miles in 4:28 (hey! That's my birthday!) PR on that last week was 4:44. PR for Full Rush DH Official (not via "rush the trees") 2.04 miles, 9:30. PR on Mystic Rhythms - .75 mil 3:41 (16 efforts on that, got 3rd place on that last week 5/4 3:56, 5/1 3:55), previous PR was Nov 1 at 3:53). Limelight was fun, I guess I could get used to riding that. I did 3 loops on the bike park beginner/intermediate track, which I think is called "Like a Boss". I got a little bit of air a few times today on the bike park loop and on a few parts of rush, but just a baby little bit of air, I'm still a beginner!

Apr 29 - May 4

Monday - Morning ride up LCC with Corey, and Joseph and Eliza came with us up to the 1st bridge. We started a bit later than planned, and I had to get back for a meeting, so we just went to Techy and back, 10.82 miles, 1 hour 30 minutes. woo. I got up the rocks AGAIN, and avalanche hill, and did the log in techy, snow was gone but things were still squishy, I'll get one of the techy rock piles next time! Also went bouldering around 2:30 since we didn't have violin today and I had Abi home to watch kids. I did 30:

  • 1 V4s - white one on south boulder
  • 7 V3 sends - 2 Black on South Boulder, Pink on North Boulder, 2x Red, White in OG, New Lavender on the North Boulder
  • 2 V3 attempts - new Lavender in OG
  • 9 V2 sends
  • 2 V2 attempts - new Orange in the OG sector on the 45 wall
  • 9 V1s
Tuesday - A little hike down into Dimple Dell with Peter and Katharine. Also did the monkey bars, and held on with one hand for 10 seconds each hand!

Wednesday - Corey and I morning ride at Corner Canyon! Up Canyon Hollow and down Rush, doing Rush the end twice. 6.83 miles, 1 hour 1 min, I got a silver achievement for Rush the end! 1:38, my PR gold for that was July 15, 2023 1:34. cool! Then went climbing at 8pm, did 6 top rope climbs. (CT = Corey first, then me):
  • CT Purple 5.10a
  • CT Red 5.10b
  • T Black 5.10a
  • CT black 5.10b
  • CT green 5.10a
  • CT Orange 5.10d
Thursday - Wonderful Wonderful flows this morning, yay. Bike ride with Corey and Katharine at 6:30 - took 1 hour 4 min to go to 3rd bridge. Then they headed home on the road and I turned on my strava (thought I already had...) and got 7.97 miles from there - so from 3rd bridge to Ruins, down techy (3rd place PR) and then dirty dirty sprint (got a PR gold on that!) then reverse fish tail. Strava just told me that this was my 300th activity, cool. 15 min stretching

Friday - Climbing with Corey at 9:45 pm,
  • CT yellow  5.10a
  • CT red 5.10c
  • CT Green 5.10 c (d?) a new climb, people marking what they think it is
  • CT (I couldn’t do it!) purple 5.11 a? I'm interested to see what grade this one ends up being
  • C& T Green 5.10a
  • on Boulder - Black V3
Saturday - Bike ride in Corner Canyon with Corey and Rob, Corey and Rob biked out there from home, biked up Rocky Mouth then to BST all the way to CC from there! Impressive. I only knew how to get on BST from Hidden Valley. I drove out to Coyote Hollow and then down Rush the end, to BST until I met up with them. Corey did 15.14 miles, 2 hours 1 min, 26 achievements, like Gold for Fly by night to Rush. He also wiped out right at the beginning of rush and got a good rash on his left leg, ouch! Totals for me: 8.99 miles, 1 hour 16 min, 14 achievements, like Silver on Brocks (4.44, PR was 4:29 on 6/24/23) Rushing Corners (1:38, PR 1:28 on 11/13/23) Quite a few Silvers on the Rush downhill so that's cool! PR on Chainless Rush (from the Ghost Falls jump in to almost the end?) 3:29, Previous PR was 11/13/23 3:32, 21 efforts doing that. Also a PR for Lower Rush, .3 miles in 57 seconds, 65 efforts on that, so that's fun! After that Corey, Rob and I also went to the jump track and did a few rounds, I want to learn how to jump. I got air twice and it was terrifying but I'm glad I didn't fall! I don't know how you keep your feet on the bike? I might need clips for that so I can hold the bike to myself.

April 22 - 27

Monday - Morning ride up LCC with Corey, we almost made it to the ruins, some un-biked-on snow stopped us. Probably will be rideable in another week or two. No achievements - 10.98 miles, 1:38:04 time, 1496 elevation gain (Corey got 10.96 in 1:39:42, 1492 elevation gain just had to make sure it's documented that I was faster and went further atleast one time this season, he'll be leaving me in the dust soon). RS meeting right when I got home, then ride with Katharine and Peter in the trailer after my RS meeting 3.72 miles, 35 minutes

Tuesday - Corey and I went climbing this morning (Hyrum took carpool for me) - we did top rope the whole time. We did 5 climbs, the same ones, Corey first then me except for the last one, I did the last one first and then Corey and then we were done.
  1. Purple 5.10a South Toprope - looked easy at first, I thought it would be a good warm up. Once Corey was up there it looked a little scary, like the holds were too far apart, but it was ok once I was on the wall - was able to send it
  2. next we figured we better try a 5.10c, if we were going to do one at all, before we got spent. So we did a Green 5.10c on the East Buttress (wall on the corner where you can see all the boulders). I was able to send it and not cheat and not have to take a break!
  3. Then a Hot Pink 5.10b right next to the green. That one was good too! Sent it
  4. We thought we'd cool down with an easy, so we did a Yellow 5.10a on the Back TR Sector. Easy, good!
  5. I felt like I had a little more in me and wanted to do one more so I did a Green 5.10a right next to the yellow. It was a good climb session!
45 min of stretching between 4-5:00 during a talk with Nicole, did 20 min each leg in front split then 5 min trying for pancake with Natalie on my back

Wednesday - Corey and I were going to do a ride this morning, but he didn't get up and I was waiting for him, wasn't sure what was going on but didn't want to go without him but also didn't want to wake him, so I just read. Ended up not going climbing or anything, but did do a 45 second tuck at park while P&K played, one pass on the monkey bars

Thursday - bike ride up LCC with Corey, made it all the way to the ruins! 11.36 miles, 1 hour 45 minutes. I made it up avalanche hill and even made it up the rocks before the second bridge! We did techy on the way down! yay. A few places where we had to walk, but the fallen trees have been removed. On techy, most features (log, two rock piles) were too slippery cause of snow, but it was good other than that! One hour of splits  and leg stretching)

Friday - top rope with Corey this morning after dropping of Churchill carpool - did 9: two attempts and 7 sends: warm up on Purple 5.9, took it easy again with Yellow 5.10a, then Red 5.10b, Black 5.10a, Hot pink 5.10d woo! cool down with a Purple 5.9, then tried a Black 5.10d, made it half way up, then I was dead in my arms to I switched to the Orange 5.9 on the wall right next to it for the rest of way to top. Then Corey tried one more, a Red 5.10c, he did great, then I wanted to try too - got up about half way there and then we were done. So 7 sends and Black 5.10d and Red 5.10c, were the two attempts.

Saturday - Went climbing tonight from 9-10 before they closed at the Sandy Momentum with Corey AND Mel after we picked up Mel from Frontrunner. Did some top rope: Orange 5.10b, then Yellow 5.10b and White 5.10b right after with no rest. I wrote things in my notes, but can't see how to see my notes, so next time I'll write things in my own phone notepad. I also did attempted a 5.11a - I literally could not hold on anymore at the top. I rested twice, but my arms were so spent, I was BARELY able to get to the top holding onto the Orange 5.10b that was right next to it. Also did a little bouldering in between the top rope climbs, where Corey would belay Mel and I'd come back to belay Corey. For bouldring I did 11:
  • 1 V4 attempt - a white that had holds that were basically upside down horns
  • 1 V3 attempt - hot pink
  • 3 V2 sends - Blue, orange, and yellow
  • 5 V1 sends
  • 1 V0 - purple

Monday, April 15, 2024

  • 7 V3 sends - Black 2x on South Boulder, Pink (really did it) Red 2x, white in OG, Blue in OG
  • 13 V2 sends - one of these was a lavendar on the south boulder that I had tried weeks ago but hadn't done to finish before! Did it today, yay!
Tuesday - 1 hour bike ride at 7pm - fish tail plus a detour ride up to the 2nd bridge. Snow and a fallen tree kept me from going further.

Wednesday - Went around 9 today (thanks Hyrum for watching P&K for me) I did 24:
  • 1 V4s - white one on south boulder
  • 7 V3 sends - Black 2x on South Boulder, Pink (really did it) Red 2x, white in OG, Blue in OG
  • 6 V3 attempts - the pink in the OG that I've done before, wasn't able to get it today, and another pink one in the OG that I've never gotten. Didn't get much further that I had last attempt
  • 10 V2 sends
Thursday - 6:30 pm ride with Corey and Katharine on shotgun on Corey's bike! We up the quarry trail, made it to the 2nd bridge. 8.50 miles, time 1:17

Friday -  I did 20:
  • 1 V4s - white one on south boulder
  • 4 V3 sends - Black, White, Red, Blue in OG
  • 2 V3 attempts - new black and orange on the north boulder
  • 4 V2 sends
  • 6 V1s
  • 3 V0s
Also took a little ride around Dimple Dell with Katharine shotgun on MY bike! My first time riding with her, it was fun. 4.79 miles, 43 minutes

Saturday -  I snuck away tonight by myself, after Corey left to go to his dad's, and then Corey showed up there at Momentum to confront me for climbing when I should be watching kids or being more responsible? Teasing "So you gonna just leave me in the rest home when we're older?!?!" We bouldered a few: I did 9:
  • 2 V4s - white one on south boulder
  • 2 V3 sends - Black and Red
  • 3 V2 sends
  • 2 V1s
and then we belayed each other on top rope, he did 3, I did three in this order:
  • Green 5.10c, front TR Sector - I think I might have put one foot on a different color, I couldn't tell from on top, it was a good hard climb!
  • Black 5.10b - Back TR Sector - good, I've done that one before  with Lily on March 29
  • Purple 5.10a - Back TR Sector - repeat, also did this one before with Lily
