Feb 9 - 14

Monday - Some handstands and stretching.

Tuesday - temple at 5, then bouldering at Millcreek, and 35 min sauna back home at 8

5:30 pm hike from Lisa Falls to ruins, back along techy trail. Icy, guess it's good I didn't go on a bike ride

8pm - top rope with Corey at Ft Union:

  • 1- North purple 5.10b
  • 2- NE green 5.10c
  • 3- NE red 5.10d I GOT IT!!! (pic below when Corey was doing it - so surprised I got it!!)
  • 4- NE blue 5.10b
  • 5- South black 5.10d one rest in same spot near end
  • 6- South purple 5.10b
  • 7&8 - west purple 5.10c then green 5.10a
So that's a pic of the whole route - a 5.10d. Lately I've been proud to only have one break - it's usually always been at this spot here, circled below:
Those 3 holds are NOT juggy, they are flat and a little round/convex and so they are hard to hold, but the real tricky part on those 3 holds is that there is nothing for your feet to help you with, except the two little holds which are too far to the left to be much help. And you have to get high enough to be able to grab the jug hold (with the arrow) before your arms give out. So last time I was watching Corey carefully as he did it, and he's taller so he's got an advantage, but I noticed him put his feet on those two small holds, so I tried to keep my toes by them and miracle of miracle today I was able to do that and get to the top of those 3 holds and then grab the jug hold above it. I was so surprised! And I was spent, but that was my worst tricky part so I tried to hurry and finish the rest of it before my arms died, and I got it - my first time, yay!

Wednesday - Ft Union night rock climb -
  • 1- North purple 5.10b
  • 2- NE green 5.10c
  • 3- NE red 5.10d I GOT IT!!!
  • 4- NE blue 5.10b
  • 5- South black 5.10d one rest in same spot near end
  • 6- South purple 5.10b
  • 7&8 - west purple 5.10c then green 5.10a

Thursday - Walk/jog/sprint with Mel, 2.81 miles in 35 minutes

Friday - Fort Union morning top rope with Corey, cause no one has school:

  1. NE Pink 5.10b
  2. NE Purple 5.10a
  3. Center South black 5.10d almost got it except the very last hold
  4. Center South purple 5.10b
  5. South wall red 5.10b
  6. South wall blue 5.10c 1 cheat, should be a d
  7. South pink 5.11a 1 rest 1 cheat
  8. South yellow 5.11a 3 rests

Saturday - morning jog with one sprint and a little walking. 2.41 miles in 25 minutes.
